Summary of Position

The Product Manager - Live Games is responsible for supporting the live game service of MapleStory within Nexon America. This includes executing the vision of the Producer and collaborating with a variety of cross-functional teams including game developers, marketing, DevOps, QA, platform, player support, community, design, content, and localization teams to provide insightful data analysis and ensure smooth development and publishing of high-quality online games.

We are currently working in the office 2-3x a week in a hybrid work model.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide insightful analysis by tracking and measuring player behavior and performance of sales, feature releases, limited time events, long term game content and overall game updates to evaluate the results and gain actionable feedback that drive strategic decision-making
  • Own the overall analytics strategy by identifying data-driven opportunities, collaborating with various teams to define key performance indicators to track, designing tests for those KPIs, establishing data ingestion processes, and implementing analysis reporting flow
  • Stimulate engagement, retention, and monetization by designing and implementing insights into tests and constantly evaluating and adjusting live events
  • Drive the execution of actional feedback from analysis by continuously working with various teams and project managing tasks and action items to completion
  • Create compelling, clear and concise reports to communicate complex insights and suggestions to all stakeholders. Be able to present findings confidently and with data driven and transparent answers to effectively drive learning and optimization
  • Become proficient with MapleStory features, events, sales, and content to be able to understand where the data analytics strategy can support improvement within the game
  • Other duties as assigned

Work Experience

  • 4+ years of live game experience

Education, Professional Training, Technical Training or Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

Knowledge/Skills

  • Proven ability to work with cross-functional/cross-organizational teams
  • Strong collaboration and project organizational skills
  • Excellent written, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional task management, time management and problem-solving skills
  • Experience and strong skills with data research analysis, including the ability to discern actionable and meaningful insight
  • Experience with data extraction and manipulation tools
  • Experience extracting data by writing your own SQL queries
  • Experience using Tableau or similar BI tools
  • Experience creating high quality and intuitive reports for communicating analytics
  • Ability to combine data insights and business goals to deliver actionable feedback for the production teams
  • Experience with or strong understanding of online platform games and the developers who create games for them
  • Strong understanding of the game industry including emerging trends, with a focus on the markets served by Nexon
  • High-level understanding of online environments and processes
  • Proficient with project management software such as JIRA, Slack, Teams, Sharepoint, Confluence. Excel
  • Able to manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment

Compensation Description for Pay Transparency (annually)

The base salary range for this position in El Segundo, CA is $100,000 - $120,000 annually.

Our salary ranges are determined by market data based on position and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum salaries for that position. An individual’s pay is determined by factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s qualifications, skills, experiences, relevant education or training, and location.

Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work. This role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, however the salary range listed in this job posting reflects the base salary only.
