The Ads Interface team at eBay is looking for a Product Manager to build robust capabilities and delightful experiences for eBay’s advertising solutions, focusing on ads management for all seller touchpoints on native interfaces. This role involves driving key initiatives, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring execution excellence. Responsibilities include owning key components of advertising experiences, contributing to the long-term vision, defining product requirements, redefining user interfaces with AI, partnering with various teams, and identifying opportunities to enhance campaign management products. The role requires a passion for mobile advertising, data, and a mix of ownership and collaboration.
Must have:
  • Strong Product Management experience, preferably in advertising or data analytics.
  • Experience in managing mobile advertising products, with a focus on iOS and Android platforms.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a metrics-driven approach.
  • Proficiency in analytics tools for product management and mobile analytics platforms.
  • Understanding of mobile ad tech ecosystems, including SDKs and APIs.
  • Experience collaborating with engineering teams in an Agile/Scrum environment.
Good to have:
  • Exposure to AI/ML-driven product development.
  • Knowledge of behind-the-scenes magic that goes into ensuring a successful e-commerce platform.
  • BS or MS Degree in a technical field and/or MBA.

About the team and the role

eBay Advertising is a key organization in the larger eBay ecosystem, which enables greater, faster and easier sales opportunities for our sellers, helps buyers find what they need in a convenient manner, and enables the rest of eBay to reinvent and reinvest into the growth of our overall business.

The Ads Interface team builds products and features to enable our sellers to create, manage and measure the performance of their advertising campaigns using eBays advertising platforms. We are looking for a Product Manager to join this team. This role will be responsible for building robust capabilities & delightful experiences for eBay’s advertising solutions and ads management for all seller touchpoints on native interfaces. 

As part of the team, you will work closely with senior product managers across other product areas. Your focus will be on driving key initiatives, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring execution excellence, while also contributing to broader strategic discussions. This role is ideal for someone passionate about mobile advertising data, who enjoys a mix of ownership and collaboration, and is excited to contribute to both execution and strategic discussions in the mobile domain.

What you'll accomplish

  • Own the key components of the Advertising Experiences and Interfaces to develop native ad components ensuring that interface designs are intuitive and accessible on smaller screens.

  • Contribute to long-term vision and roadmap discussions while ensuring near-term execution aligns with strategic goals incorporating mobile-specific trends and technologies into the roadmap driving mobile-first design principles.

  • Define and drive product requirements for advertising solutions, ensuring scalability, accuracy of data, and usability

  • Redefine user interfaces and interaction models leveraging AI and GenAI to personalize ad experiences based on user data, improving relevance and engagement.

  • Partner with seller-facing teams, engineering, data science, and UX teams to build robust solutions and ensure requirements are integrated into ad solutions, such as push notifications and mobile analytics.

  • Work with internal stakeholders (product marketing, go-to-market) to gather inputs and feedback, to refine capabilities.

  • Identify opportunities to enhance campaign management products based on customer needs, industry trends, and data-driven insights:

  • Give equal attention to desktop sellers, mobile sellers, and even partners and sellers connecting through API.

  • Strive for parity of data with other seller-facing verticals of the larger Selling Experience domains and maintain data integrity and consistency across all seller interfaces.

  • Prioritize product backlog and manage trade-offs between features, technical constraints, and business needs balancing technical constraints of mobile devices with business needs, ensuring optimal performance.

  • Ensure data integrity, performance, compliance with privacy regulations, and most importantly the ease of access.

Who you are

  • A proactive and execution-driven product manager who thrives in a collaborative environment with experience in driving mobile app development projects. You can collaborate effectively with mobile developers, UX/UI designers, and cross-functional teams to bring mobile products to market.

  • Analytical and detail-oriented, with a strong ability to translate data complexities into actionable insights

  • Thinking ahead of the customers (sellers), empathizing with them, and providing answers to the problems they may have not yet realized with the ability to design mobile-first solutions that address latent user needs and enhance seller experiences.

  • Innovative and keen follower of new trends in technology.

  • A strong communicator, capable of working across teams to align priorities and drive impact, including effective communication with senior leadership.

  • Comfortable managing multiple initiatives while balancing immediate needs with long-term objectives.

  • Proficient in switching contexts quickly between such multiple initiatives, as well as, between a high-level strategy conversation with leadership, and jumping into solution details with execution teams.

What you'll bring

  • Strong experience of Product Management experience, preferably in advertising, data analytics, or business intelligence. Experience in managing mobile advertising products, with a focus on iOS and Android platforms or familiarity with mobile-specific analytics and business intelligence tools.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a metrics-driven approach:

  • Proven impact on delivering value to customers

  • Ability to solve complex problems creatively to meet goals.

  • Proficiency in analytics tools meant for product management (Tableau, Amplitude) and in using mobile analytics platforms to gather insights and inform product strategy.

  • Understanding of mobile ad tech ecosystems, including SDKs and APIs used for mobile advertising integration.

  • Ability to work well with a variety of people ranging across technical levels.

  • Experience collaborating with the engineering team in an Agile/Scrum environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to AI/ML-driven product development with experience integrating AI/ML technologies into mobile products to enhance personalization and targeting.

  • Knowledge of behind-the-scenes magic that goes into ensuring a successful e-commerce platform. Understanding of mobile e-commerce dynamics and the technical intricacies that ensure seamless mobile shopping experiences.

  • BS or MS Degree in a technical field and/or MBA.

What Success Looks Like

  • Driving execution with collaborating on strategic planning with Senior Product Manager.

  • Ensuring our advertising reporting tools provide clear, actionable, and accurate insights.

  • Partnering with teams across the company to continuously refine and improve reporting capabilities
