Job Summary

The Town Hall Team is a highly collaborative group with a mission to curate and activate elevated moments of connection for the Comcast community and beyond. We are a team of dedicated producers, detailed event planners, logistics champions, and experienced technicians. Together, we manage Comcast’s Town Hall and the Ralph J. Roberts Forum. often referred to as the ‘heart and soul of campus.’ Town Hall includes conference room space, collaborative lounge spaces, and Comcast NBCUniversal’s marquee event space, the Ralph J. Roberts Forum. Named after Comcast’s founder, the Ralph J. Roberts Forum is a two floor, 500-seat amphitheater located in the heart of the Comcast Technology Center. With 56,000 square-feet of production space, full broadcast capabilities, and its Dolby Vision + Atmos cinema system, there is no other place like the Forum. Job Description

Core Responsibilities

The Production Manager / Show Caller plays a vital role keeping production verticals aligned in pre-planning and serves as the technical production lead orchestrating show movements. The Show Caller is integral in managing logistical aspects of each production ensuring seamless execution. Working directly with department heads, each team is informed and prepared regarding production plans.

The Show Caller will report to the Director of Production to ensure the on stage, control rooms, and backstage operations are cohesively aligned.

The range of programs produced are, but not limited to

  • Employee Talks and Business Meetings
  • Theatrical Movie, Sports, and Narrative Series Screenings
  • Marquee Speaker Talks
  • Concerts and Theatrical Performances
  • Experiential Venue Activations

Supervision / Management

  • Participate in client meetings and calls to give guidance to our clients, partners, and verticals to ensure the event vision is met.
  • Collaborate with Director of Production and Production Verticals on methods, systems, and best practices to support all productions.
  • Coordinate the development of run of shows
  • Follow and report on preproduction, production, and postproduction schedules to ensure timelines are met.
  • Lead cue-to-cue, asset reviews, and technical rehearsals.
  • Review assets to ensure standards and naming conventions are appropriate for show execution.
  • Ensure communication of all missing assets, questions, and concerns are communicated appropriately and in a timing manner to all departments
  • Develop and propose creative input to help shape events and departmental workflow.
  • Review production schedules to ensure they align and support the vison of all events.

Show Calling:

  • As needed, forward facing with clients and speakers instilling comfort and confidence to deliver the events on stage moments.
  • Direct technician and stage manager show segments execution.
  • Direct show flow, guiding the sequence of events and managing transitions smoothly. In show, serve as the voice of RJR Forum.
  • Manage the event in real-time, guide the production team in moments troubleshooting as needed to ensure smooth execution.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain high standards of production quality, with an eye toward methods of improvement.
  • Serve as a liaison between the Director of Production, Production Manager, and various departments to ensure clear and effective communication.

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of audio, video, camera, lighting, staging, and set design.
  • Creative problem solving and the ability to multitask.
  • Polished written and communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to draft a cohesive production run of show.
  • Working experience in a variety of event formats, broadcast, hybrid, in-person, and fully virtual events.
  • Administrative skills; Microsoft suite and Apple Keynote.
  • 15 years of live broadcast/event industry experience with focus in managing and directing roles preferred.
  • 4-year degree preferred.

Education

Bachelor's Degree
