What you'll do?
Failure Analysis & Problem Solving
- Lead complex investigations into customer returns, warranty claims, and in-line failures with high-quality, timely reporting.
- Utilize advanced diagnostic techniques (SEM, EDS, X-RAY, oscilloscopes, LCR meters, etc.) for root cause identification.
- Apply structured methodologies (8D, 5 Why, IS/IS Not, PDCA, SPC, CAPA) to implement robust corrective and preventive actions.
Production Quality Assurance
- Monitor and control production processes to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.
- Analyze scrap, defect, and yield data to identify systemic trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop, implement, and maintain Control Plans, FMEA, and process documentation to ensure consistency and stability.
Continuous Improvement & Auditing
- Conduct process audits, risk assessments, and supplier quality evaluations.
- Lead Kaizen initiatives to enhance process capability, reduce waste, and drive operational efficiency.
- Support internal, supplier, and customer audits, ensuring full compliance with IATF, ISO, and VDA standards.
Cross-Functional & Customer Collaboration
- Act as the technical interface for critical customer escalations and supplier quality issues.
- Partner with R&D, Manufacturing, Supplier Quality, and Customer Quality teams to address systemic issues and prevent recurrence.
- Provide clear, data-driven recommendations that influence both product design and manufacturing practices.
Tools, Systems & Infrastructure
- Maintain and optimize failure analysis laboratory equipment, standards, and infrastructure.
- Ensure proper documentation and traceability of investigations, reports, and corrective actions.
- Support warranty cost reduction initiatives by driving design/process improvements based on failure insights.
What You’ll Bring?
Technical Expertise
- Proven experience in failure analysis, production quality, and electronic manufacturing (preferably in automotive).
- Strong knowledge of PCBA, ECU, SMT assembly, semiconductors, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Proficiency with advanced tools: SEM, EDS, X-RAY, oscilloscopes, multimeters, soldering equipment, and visual inspection systems.
- Familiarity with warranty processes, deviation handling, scrap analysis, and change control procedures.
Standards & Compliance
- Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, VDA, and MPS112 requirements.
- Skilled in preparing and maintaining FMEA, Control Plans, KPIs (QCDSM), Quality Reports, and Corrective Action Reports.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills with internal teams, suppliers, and customers.
- Analytical, detail-driven, and proactive mindset with a passion for building a strong quality culture.
- Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Open to travel as required for supplier visits, customer engagements, and audit activities.
Preferred Qualification: BE / BTech / ME / MTech in relevant engineering stream
