As a Professional Services Engineer (PSE), you will support customer implementation projects across North America, acting as a trusted advisor. The role involves providing high-quality implementation of Extreme Network product suites, ensuring customer requirements are met. Responsibilities include project implementation support (on-site and remote), following the Extreme PS PDIO methodology, creating project documentation, serving as a technical lead and liaison between sales and customers, and mentoring other team members. A strong understanding of networking technologies, security design features, troubleshooting, and customer interaction management is essential. The role requires expertise in various networking technologies and Extreme ECA certification.
Must have:
- Expertise in networking technologies (6+ years)
- Knowledge of security design features (4+ years)
- Hands-on experience with security tools
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Ability to analyze customer requirements
- Experience implementing solutions with minimal downtime
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Proven team player
- Self-motivated with minimal supervision
- Extreme ECA certification
Good to have:
- In-depth knowledge of 4+ networking technologies
- Experience with Extreme Campus Fabric
- Experience with Network Access Control (NAC)
- Experience with Intrusion Detection/Prevention (IDS/IPS)
- Experience with Convergence, Wireless, WAN
- Experience with IPv4/v6
- Experience with Routing Protocols (RIP, OSPF, VRRP, MPLS, BGP, PIM)
- Experience with Layer2 Switching (802.1Q, 802.1 D, 801.x)
- Experience with Extreme Analytics
- B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Network Certifications (CCNA, CISSP, CCIE, CWTS/CWNA)

Location: Baltimore, Maryland
The Extreme Professional Services Engineer (PSE) will work within a team of highly skilled and experienced engineers to support multiple customer implementation projects throughout North America. The PSE role requires a broad range of technical, troubleshooting and excellent customer communication skills. The PSE is considered the “trusted advisor” for the customer during the network implementation. The PSE’s role is to provide a high quality implementation of all product areas of the Extreme Network product suites, by ensuring that all networking implementations meet the customer requirements.
Responsibilities:
· Provide project implementation support onsite and remote.
· Follow Extreme PS PDIO (Plan/Design/Implement/Operate) implementation methodology.
· Responsible for creation and maintaining of project documentation during implementation.
· Responsible as technical lead and trusted advisor to the customer during implementation.
· Responsible as liaison between sales and customer during implementation.
· Work with Extreme partners and sales staff to implement the Extreme solution that was sold.
· Must maintain excellent knowledge on all Extreme product suites.
· Coach and mentor other members of Professional Services and PS partners.
· Ability to escalate any customer issues to management in a timely manner.
Requirements:
· Expert in networking technologies with industry and regional knowledge and experience. (6 or more years’ experience)
· Thorough knowledge of security design features and ability to implement and perform analysis of network and systems security design. (4 or more years’ experience)
· Hands-on experience using security-related toolsets.
· Must have strong skills in troubleshooting and problem resolution in a network environment.
· Keen ability to understand and analyze customer requirements and position the Extreme solution effectively.
· Ability to effectively implement Extreme products and solutions in a mission critical environment within a scheduled downtime or with no downtime.
· Demonstrated ability to manage complex customer interactions in difficult circumstances and control customer expectations in order to maintain satisfied customers.
· Excellent inter-personal, technical presentation and communications skills.
· Proven team player.
· Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work with minimal supervision.
· Extreme ECA certification
