Ness is currently seeking:
Experienced Program Manager to lead a large-scale Hadoop to Azure migration project. Data Transformation/Change expertise is critical.
Strong background in managing complex data migration projects, a deep understanding of cloud technologies, and proven expertise in stakeholder management. This role will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing the end-to-end migration strategy, ensuring seamless transition and minimal disruption to business operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Leadership:
Lead and manage the end-to-end migration program, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
- Define program scope, objectives, and success criteria in collaboration with key stakeholders.
Stakeholder Management:
- Engage with business, technical, and executive stakeholders to align project goals, manage expectations, and provide regular status updates.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all project-related communications.
Project Planning and Execution:
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive project plan, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including IT, data engineering, analytics, and operations, to ensure project deliverables are met on time and within budget.
Risk and Issue Management:
- Identify potential risks and issues related to the migration and develop mitigation strategies.
- Proactively manage and resolve project conflicts, ensuring minimal impact on project timelines and quality.
Technical Oversight:
Collaborate with technical leads to design and implement a robust migration strategy, considering data architecture, security, and performance.
Plan & implement Hadoop decommissioning
- Ensure adherence to best practices for cloud migration, data governance, and compliance requirements.
Change Management:
Performance Tracking and Reporting:
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to track program progress and effectiveness.
- Provide regular updates to senior leadership and stakeholders on project status, risks, and outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
- 8+ years of experience in program or project management, with a focus on large-scale data migration projects.
- Proven experience in managing cloud migration projects, particularly from Hadoop to Azure.
- Strong knowledge of cloud technologies, particularly Microsoft Azure, and big data frameworks like Hadoop, Spark, and Hive.
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Experience with Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies.
- PMP, PgMP, or related certification is preferred.
- Ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Azure Data Services (e.g., Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse, Azure Databricks).
- Familiarity with data governance and compliance frameworks.
- Experience in financial management and budget oversight for large-scale projects.
