This Program Manager III role within Google's Machine Learning Developer Advocacy team focuses on building easy developer journeys across Google's AI product suite. You'll manage a team of program managers, oversee the DevRel roadmap (including feedback programs, events, and open-source initiatives), and drive community growth and adoption of ML developer products like Google AI Studio and Gemini APIs. The role involves close collaboration with product, engineering, marketing, and social teams to bring new AI techniques to developers, advocating for user needs and bringing developer feedback to product and engineering teams. This is a fast-paced, high-impact position requiring strong program management skills and experience in developer relations.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in program or project management.
  • Experience in developer relations.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience in managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • 7 years of experience in program management, startups, business, customer engineering or consulting.
  • 2 years of experience in community management, marketing or business.
  • Ability to engage with a diverse set of disciplines like Product Managers, Product Marketing Managers, Engineers, UX, Program Managers spanning all organizational levels.

The mission of the Machine Learning Developer Advocacy team is to build easy developer journeys across the AI developer product suite with a well organized and helpful developer experience. Our team works across Google to ensure a consistent narrative for products such as Google AI Studio and the Gemini API, Gemma open models, Imagen, Veo, Google Colaboratory, Kaggle, Frameowrks and ODML.

In this role, you will be the interface between Google and our developer community, managing large-scale programs, working with product and engineering to bring cutting edge AI techniques to developers. This is a fast moving and high impact space.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $139,000-$207,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of program managers focused on Developer Relations (DevRel) go-to-market strategy, community outreach, events and social strategy.
  • Create, oversee and manage the DevRel roadmap, including feedback programs, events, outreach, engagement and Open Source (OSS) programs.
  • Motivate community growth, adoption and user retention for ML developer products, including Google AI Studio, Gemini APIs, Gemma Open Models, Open Source (OSS) Frameworks, Kaggle and Colaboratory.
  • Partner with product, engineering, marketing and social teams to ship new models and features.
  • Bring developer feedback to product and engineering teams, advocate for the needs of users.
