Meow Wolf is seeking a Project Controls Manager to oversee planning and schedule support for their project portfolio. The role involves developing and managing integrated master schedules for design, construction, and show installation of new exhibitions, as well as sustainment and expansion projects. This position requires strong collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including creative directors and vendor partners. Key responsibilities include strategic planning, schedule development using software like Planera, critical path logic network analysis, and producing reports for executive management. The role also involves contributing to risk management by identifying schedule-related risks and proposing mitigation strategies. The company emphasizes creativity, playfulness, belonging, compassion, and courage, operating as a Public Benefit Corporation and B Corp.
Must have:
  • 7+ years in engineering/construction planning and scheduling
  • Ability to interpret design drawings and specifications
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office
  • Experience with Gantt charts and Netpoint
Good to have:
  • 3+ years in theme park planning/coordination
  • Experience with Planera scheduling software

Job Description:

Location: This position is remote/ hybrid-eligible, provided the candidate resides within the following markets: Santa Fe, Denver, Las Vegas, Dallas, Los Angeles or New York City.

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is $103,130 to $154,180.  Compensation is based on location and experience.  This position is also eligible for an incentive of 8%. Incentives are not guaranteed and are based on company performance.

Deadline: The deadline for submitting applications for this position is July 30, 2025. Meow Wolf reserves the right to extend this deadline if needed.

The Project Controls Manager of Planning and Scheduling plays a pivotal role in providing planning and schedule support to executive management, overseeing planning and scheduling responsibilities across our entire project portfolio.

Are you a dynamic and roll-up-the-sleeves scheduling professional with seasoned experience in the themed entertainment, immersive arts or hospitality industries? Join Meow Wolf’s project controls team as our Project Controls Manager, where you’ll be responsible for supporting project teams with planning and schedule development for design, construction and show installation for new exhibitions, as well as Sustainment and Expansion projects. Scope of planning and scheduling responsibilities include development/establishment of program/project schedules, show concept development, building construction, show production and installation.

Essential to the role is possessing strong interpersonal skills and bringing a partnership approach to planning with both internal and external stakeholders who range from Creative Directors to vendor partners.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning & Program Oversight:

    • Collaborate with Senior Leadership to align individual project schedules with overall program objectives and long-term strategic goals.

    • Spearhead the development of Meow Wolf’s facility design, construction, and show installation schedules to ensure an incredible immersive guest experience.

    • Oversee and manage inter-project dependencies across the entire portfolio, proactively identifying and resolving conflicts to ensure cohesive strategic execution.

  • Schedule Development & Management:

    • Oversee Project Scheduler Consultants to develop comprehensive plans and integrated master schedules from diverse drawings, specifications, and scoping documents.

    • Establish and maintain program and project master schedules across their full life cycles using scheduling software (Planera).

    • Develop and maintain critical path logic networks, leveraging historical data for realistic forecasting.

    • Coordinate with estimating and finance teams to define appropriate scope detail and durations for schedule activities.

  • Coordination & Communication:

    • Lead planning and coordination meetings, collecting progress, evaluating variances, and developing work-around plans.

    • Produce essential reports for project teams and executive management, ensuring frequent, clear communication with all internal and external partners on complex topics.

    • Provide expert schedule guidance to project teams throughout all project phases.

    • Integrate schedule input from all internal and external project organizations, including contractors and vendors.

  • Optimization & Risk Management:

    • Contribute to program-level risk management by identifying schedule-related risks across the portfolio and proposing mitigation strategies to executive management.

    • Support strategic resource allocation and capacity planning discussions by providing accurate schedule forecasts and insights into future resource demands.

Required Qualifications

  • You have demonstrated knowledge of construction methods and planning and the ability to interpret design drawings and specs.

  • You are skilled in effectively presenting information in one-on-one and small group situations and to lead and facilitate meetings.

  • You are skilled in problem solving as well as anticipating changes within the project scope.

  • You hold excellent interpersonal skills, written and oral communication skills, organizational as well as creative thinking Essential tools to set you up for success.

  • You bring 7+ Years of proven experience in engineering/construction planning and scheduling experience and 3+ years theme park planning/coordination experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • You must possess an in-depth knowledge of core platforms and programs as they will be utilized on a daily basis:

    • Google Suite

    • Microsoft Office

    • Keynote

    • Gantt charts

    • Netpoint

Work Environment and Physical Demands

Work Environment: 

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and scanners.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Physical ability to walk, stand, take stairs/slides/elevators, and navigate the elements during the day and night. Employees may be required to remain in a sitting or standing position for prolonged periods, and repeat motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.   Must be able to lift up to  15 pounds at times.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. or 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Supervisor Responsibilities

This position does require supervisory responsibility.

Travel 

This position will require some travel (10%-25%)
