Job Description

As a Project Manager at Stem, you will identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies. You'll prepare budgets, bids, and contracts, and manage project execution, ensuring solutions are delivered on time. You will act as a point of contact for large projects and in-depth customer needs. Responsibilities include working with various teams to ensure complete engineering requirements, building and managing project plans, preparing project status reports, coordinating resources, and communicating with stakeholders. Additionally, you will develop project life-cycle processes, track costs, and resolve issues, all while helping to refine internal processes. This position is salaried exempt, M-F, with additional weekend work as required.
Must have:
  • BS degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Project Management role.
  • Strong communication and customer account management skills.
  • Ability to understand and communicate technical information.
  • Able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Good to have:
  • PMP certification preferred.
  • Experience in the Solar or related power industry.

What we are looking for:

As a Project Manager, you will work with the team to identify all project risks and develop mitigation strategies. Prepare budgets, bids, contracts, funding requests, and communication plans. Manage, supervise, and schedule execution of projects. You will thrive on schedules, milestones, and delivering solutions on time. You will bring order to a fast-paced growth environment and act as a point of contact for large projects and more in-depth customer needs.

As the Project Manager you will be the liaison between Engineering and Technical Sales to document and refine product requirements, milestones, and deliverables and translate this into actionable and achievable project plans. From these plans, the Project Manager will coordinate internally with Engineering, Development, and Operations to fulfill projects on time and within the project budget.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with Technical Sales, Engineering, and Software Development to ensure complete and detailed engineering requirements.
  • Build project plans and manage projects from purchase order to completion.
  • Prepare and present project status to stakeholders, leadership, and external customers.
  • Effectively coordinate with the client and internal cross-functional resources while managing expectations, delivery scope, approach, timelines, risks, and resources.
  • Coordinate internal resources developing accountability and clarity in scope and timeline for each stakeholder.
  • Prepares project status reports and works to ensure plans adhere to contract specifications.
  • Communicate regularly with Technical Sales and the customer to manage expectations.
  • Work with field service to efficiently organize field activities.
  • Develop tools for and report periodically internally and externally on health of projects.
  • Develop tools to understand and manage resource loading across the organization.
  • Host periodic project meetings – internal and with customer.
  • Develop project life-cycle process and checklists for engineering projects.
  • Track project costs and process change orders with sales and the customer as needed.
  • Identify gaps and interface with engineering, operations, development, and the customer to drive resolution.
  • Help to define and refine internal processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • BS degree or equivalent experience required.  BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  • PMP certification preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience successfully managing the deployment of projects supported by functional teams of engineering, manufacturing and logistic in the power industry.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Project Management role within the Solar or related power industry.
  • Strong written, verbal, and customer account management skills in communicating issues, impacts, and corrective actions on programs to internal and external representatives.
  • Ability to understand and communicate both technical and business information.
  • Able to manage multiple projects/activities in a dynamic fast-paced environment.

This is a salaried exempt position, M-F, with additional weekend work as required.

Job Location:   This position is based in our Broomfield CO office.

Travel: 5%

Salary Range

$70,160.00 - $105,240.00
