Fluence has an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager to join our Project Delivery Team.
As a Project Manager you will lead core only, core plus, and turn-key EPC (Engineering, Procurement,
and Construction) projects in the energy sector, specifically focusing on battery energy storage
systems.
Your goal is to deliver projects on-time, within budget, and without incidents or accidents. This role
demands an autonomous, pragmatic individual with experience in a matrixed and virtual
environment. You should be adept at handling multiple stakeholders and projects simultaneously and
be part of a global team. Knowledge of typical electrical codes & standards and experience in turn-key
energy infrastructure project construction are essential. Experience in Energy Storage markets is
beneficial but not mandatory. An agile mindset and comfort in a fast-paced start-up technology
environment are crucial.
Responsibilities:
Ensure all projects in your area are delivered safely, to local and EU codes, on time, on
budget, and to customer satisfaction, in line with an ISO 9001 certified internal quality
program.
Lead turn-key battery energy storage projects, collaborating with finance, engineering, and
procurement teams.
Manage project schedules, budgets, personnel allocation, and safety/quality plans across
projects at various stages.
Resolve technical issues promptly to maintain quality, timeline, and cost objectives.
Manage relationships with EPC, Equipment Delivery, and other partners during the Project
Delivery phase.
Support contract negotiations with contractors and suppliers; oversee contractors and sub-
contractors to ensure quality, schedule adherence, and safety compliance.
Collaborate with customers, suppliers, partners, sales, and senior management to meet
project deliverables and contractual requirements.
Evaluate construction methods for cost-effectiveness and value-engineering opportunities.
Participate in business improvement projects, including project plan documentation and
communication.
Collaborate with the project finance team for budget review, revenue, and cash flow
forecasts, and propose cost containment strategies as needed.
Qualifications:
Strong communication skills, capable of representing the company with key customers,
regulatory officials, and supply chain/service partners in Belgium and the Netherlands.
At least 5 years’ experience in project management, construction management, or
engineering within the power generation market.
Minimum 3 years of P&L responsibility for equipment supply or turn-key projects and over
one year of subcontractor contract management experience.
Experience managing a matrix project organization with 6+ functions.
Ability to plan and manage multiple projects.
Strong analytical skills.
Leadership, influence, and strong communication abilities.
Proactive problem-solving attitude.
Proficiency in English; Polish or Ukrainian language skills are advantageous.
Desirable Qualities/Experience:
Experience with projects for utility customers in the East region.
Familiarity with EU energy regulations and market structures.
Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time.
Education and Certifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, physics, or another technical discipline.
Project Management certification (e.g., PMP, IPMA, PRINCE2).
Knowledge of health and safety regulations specific to East Europe

Location:
Fluence has an office in Amsterdam, but the position involves home working as well as
frequent travel to sites as required.
Candidates should be willing to spend between 30% -50% of their time away from home.
