Position Summary:
Working within Creative Services CoE (GCO), Budapest Post Production hub, the Promo Mastering Editor is primarily responsible for editing and packaging marketing campaigns across 20+ languages, covering MAX & HBO Max streaming, all online and social communication platforms, Owned and Operated linear channels including HBO and Cinemax. This role requires advanced GFX and editing skills using Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects (and where necessary), Avid Media Composer. Solid understanding and experience of broadcast and technical Post Production workflows is an essential requirement. A minimum of 3-5 years experience is typical for this role.
The Promo Mastering Editor will support the Promo Mastering Supervisor in providing high levels of post production service to the pan EMEA region and the associated streaming platforms, as well as other internal clients and stakeholders as required. The Promo Mastering Editor will be working in a fast paced, collaborative and team focused environment and be responsible for producing compliant promo assets for broadcast across multiple platforms. The Promo Mastering Editor is required to highlight any client needs, workflow challenges, efficiencies, technical or operational issues to the Promo Mastering Supervisor and Post Resources Supervisor. This role also includes Quality Assessment work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Edit and package content according to WBD tech specs, network style guides and make-lists using Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects and, where necessary, Avid Media Composer.
- Ensure that all aspects of compliance Codes of Practice relating to the region and platform are observed.
- Take responsibility for any assigned feeds and campaigns, managing your schedule and workload to meet any specified deadlines, and update status in tracking systems.
- Engage with the relevant regional Promo Marketing and Orchestration teams to maintain the look and feel of the WBD channel / streaming brands and provide timely completion of all campaigns.
- Receive, check, and utilize assets of various kinds for edit and packaging work, communicating any issues or missing materials promptly to Post Resources Supervisor, orchestration production management team (as req’d).
- Source and restore master assets (long and short form) or existing promos from storage, media asset management systems or archive
- Use, adapt and create toolkits and projects in Adobe After Effects.
- Create and incorporate Additional GFX elements into existing After Effects templates
- Where needed, create and compile all picture and audio elements for Audio mixing and provide them to the relevant Audio Engineer/Vendor.
- Where needed, create and compile all picture elements for Colour Grading (if required) and provide them to the relevant Colorist/vendor.
- Take delivery of finished audio sessions and incorporate supplied audio mixes and stems into the project that is being worked on.
- Create branded templates for various outputs as per communication platform portfolio
- Deliver Work in Progress and Finished content via the standard WBD approval and content supply chains and provide ad hoc media and material delivery as required outside of those established supply chains.
- Use Media content management & broadcast database systems accordingly to collect or deliver master assets & data
- Video file encoding/transcoding as per required unique tech spec or delivery standards set for each output variations
- Update any department scheduling or task/time-tracking tools as necessary to ensure accurate metrics can be reported.
- Report any technical problems to the Post Production Engineering team and feed back any issues to the Promo Mastering Supervisor and Post Resources Supervisor (as req’d).
- Maintain QC standards of newly created materials.
- Maintain an impeccable attention to detail throughout the promo packaging process.
- Thoroughly carry out metadata entry tasks.
- Methodically and diligently work through production schedules.
- Ensure all company and departmental operational procedures are followed.
- Daily use of agreed communication channels within the team and within the wider organization
- Prioritize and deal with queries as quickly and efficiently as possible using any authorized WBD communication systems.
- Analyze the current workflow and propose/report anything that can be improved
- Keep asset archive up-to-date
- Ad hoc duties are required
- You may be required to work shifts (days, nights and weekends shifts)
- Create and incorporate Additional GFX elements into existing After Effects templates
Requirements:
- Advanced knowledge and experience of Adobe After Effects is essential.
- Advanced knowledge and relevant experience of Adobe Premiere is important for the role.
- Experience of Avid Media Composer is desirable.
- Good understanding of compliance regulatory codes of practice across EMEA.
- Excellent attention to detail in all communication, documentation and metadata.
- Ability to detect and identify standard video and audio faults.
- Ability to diagnose and repair erroneous content.
- Ability to coordinate, prioritize and edit in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to manage own schedule and priorities, making the most efficient use of time.
- Able to work independently and as part of a wider team.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Technical training and (at least) 5 year's experience in a recognized creative agency, promo team, post facility or media-based organization.
- Advanced knowledge of file-based workflows and broadcast technology.
- Good operational knowledge of editing working within a team environment.
- Excellent understanding of video and audio theory.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to identify and prioritize problems.
- Decision-making skills.
- Intermediate English language skills (verbal and written).
- Additional language skills are beneficial.
