The Purchasing Trainee will learn about UFPI, the role of the buyer, the products purchased, their manufacturing, transportation, and processing. Training includes field, office, and sawmill experiences. They will assist buyers, create/update orders, trace loads, provide purchase order information, and handle inquiries. They'll also develop knowledge of market conditions, interact with other departments, and contribute to new product sourcing. The trainee will adhere to company policies, prepare reports, and perform other duties as assigned. The job is based on the following:
* Learn the role of the buyer
* Learn how to function in our system, ie. Creating updating orders, tracing loads, etc.
* Learn about the products we purchase and how they are manufactured
* Learn how the material is processed at the plant level
* Learn how the material is sold at the plant level
* Learn how products are transported from the mill to our facilities or customers
