The role involves managing, preparing, and controlling project documentation, ensuring compliance with codes and specifications. Key responsibilities include compiling and submitting Mechanical Review Books (MRB) and Mechanical Data Books (MDB), controlling incoming and outgoing Quality Assurance and Control (QAC) documentation, updating master trackers, coordinating with various teams and stakeholders, preparing QA/QC documentation, and organizing Project Inspection Meetings (PIM). The candidate will also oversee the execution of approved Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and procedures, assign tasks to QC team members, and ensure timely submission of MDBs.

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Mechanical QA/QC Engineer with 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in project documentation, quality assurance, and quality control in mechanical engineering projects. The ideal candidate will have expertise in managing, preparing, and controlling project documentation and will be responsible for ensuring that all activities are executed according to applicable codes, project specifications, and approved procedures. This would entail the following:
MRB/MDB Compilation & Submission:
- Prepare and compile Mechanical Review Book (MRB) and Mechanical Data Book (MDB) as per the project document index.
- Ensure the timely submission of MRB/MDB documents to the customer, adhering to project timelines and requirements.
Document Control:
- Control the incoming and outgoing Quality Assurance and Control (QAC) documentation with ZHQ, ZIN, and the customer, ensuring compliance with the project document control philosophy.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date records for MRB and MDB documentation.
- Ensure proper storage of all data related to MRB/MDB for easy retrieval and reference.
Tracking & Documentation Updates:
- Continuously update the master tracker for all project-related documents, ensuring that all information is current and accessible.
Coordination & Communication:
- Coordinate with the HQ Quality team, Project team, and customer as required to ensure smooth project execution and documentation submission.
- Collaborate with ASME-AI, Third Party Inspectors (TPI), and customer inspectors for project inspections and quality checks.
- Act as a liaison between various stakeholders to ensure alignment with quality standards and project requirements.
Preparation of QA/QC Documentation:
- Responsible for preparing all QA/QC documentation required for the project, ensuring adherence to project specifications, codes, and approved Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and procedures.
Project Inspection Meetings (PIM):
- Organize and facilitate Project Inspection Meetings (PIM) in consultation with the project team, especially for projects executed at the Wada location.
- Ensure that the project team is aligned with inspection protocols and timelines.
Quality Assurance & Control Compliance:
- Ensure that all activities performed by the project team are in compliance with the applicable codes, standards, and project specifications.
- Oversee the execution of approved ITPs and procedures to ensure consistent quality across the project.
Job Assignment & Supervision:
- Assign tasks and responsibilities to Quality Control Engineers/Inspectors and oversee their work to ensure it aligns with project specifications and quality standards.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to the QC team to enhance their understanding of quality processes.
Timely Preparation & Submission of MDBs:
- Take ownership of the timely preparation and submission of MDBs for all project phases, ensuring no delays in documentation.
Other Tasks as Assigned:
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the manager or senior team members, ensuring that all responsibilities are met to the satisfaction of the client and project team.

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience: 5 to 8 years of experience in mechanical QA/QC or a similar role within engineering projects.
- Knowledge of Standards: Strong understanding of relevant industry codes, standards, and project specifications (e.g., ASME, ISO).
- Document Control: Proficiency in managing technical documentation, maintaining records, and controlling document flow within the project.
- Project Management: Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders, including customers, internal teams, and third-party inspectors.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for liaising with project teams and customers.
- Software Skills: Familiarity with document control software, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant project management tools and ERP's such as Sage X3.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to meticulously manage project documents and ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
- Relocation Feasibility: Willing to relocate to the vicinity of the manufacturing unit.
