Job Description

Support an iconic Australian brand in modernizing core trading and clearing platforms using AWS, Java Spring Boot, Kubernetes, and Kafka. This greenfield project focuses on building new digital experiences and core trading capabilities. Responsibilities include building a test automation suite for back-end API/Kafka services, integrating with the existing Clearing platform, and working with back-end Java developers to ensure thorough testing of microservices before production deployment. This involves functional and non-functional testing based on business and IT stakeholder requirements. The role requires significant experience in API testing, Java application testing, and working within Agile methodologies.

Must have:

7+ years automation experience
API testing with various protocols
Selenium, Rest Assured, Postman experience
Java application & microservices testing
Kafka data streaming experience
BDD and Cucumber framework implementation
Object-Oriented Design (OOD) knowledge
Experience with JIRA and Confluence

Good to have:

Financial markets knowledge
Regulated environment experience
Performance and load testing
Knowledge of FpML, SWIFT, or FIX
Continuous improvement mindset
ISTQB Testing Certification

Project description

Support an iconic Australian brand as they seek to replace and modernise core trading and clearing platforms.
You will be working on the latest technologies (AWS, Java Spring Boot, Kubernetes, Kafka) in a greenfield project building out new digital experiences and core trading capability for this major financial institution.

Responsibilities

This role will work on test automation suite for back-end API/Kafka services integrating with the existing Clearing platform.

As an automation tester, you will be working hand in hand with the back-end java developers to ensure newly established micro-services are thoroughly tested prior to deployment in production as per the requirements functional and non functional coming from business and IT stakeholders.

Skills

Must have

Have at least 7+ years of hands on automation experience and thorough API testing experience with different protocols

Hands-on experience in Selenium Framework and API testing tools like Rest Assure and Postman

Experience testing Java applications, micro services (eg. Java Spring Boot / Node Js), data streaming (Kafka) capabilities

Basic DevOps Integration and Kafka knowledge

In-depth knowledge of popular Java frameworks like JSF Spring Boot & Spring MVC

Experience in testing RESTful APIs

Experienced in BDD and implementation of Cucumber based automation frameworks

Experience with Object-Oriented Design (OOD)

Sound level understanding of object oriented programming

In-depth testing and automation experience in a structured environment

Experience in system, system integration, regression, end-to-end, & parallel testing

Experience in test environment and test data setup

Worked as part of medium to large sized project teams

Experience with test management tools such as JIRA and confluence

Ability to multi-task and be comfortable with frequently changing priorities.

Strong working knowledge on Software Testing Life Cycle with proficiency in Waterfall and Agile delivery methodologies

Strong communication skills and positive attitude

Nice to have

Knowledge of Financial markets including products and transaction lifecycles.

Worked in a regulated environment. Conversant with Test processes

Exposure to non-functional testing, such as performance and load testing.

Knowledge of messaging protocols, such as FpML, SWIFT or FIX.

Continuous improvement mindset.
