Job Description

Syniverse seeks a QA Automation Engineer with 7+ years of experience in software engineering and QA testing. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining test procedures, leading test projects, creating test plans and schedules, assigning tasks, identifying resource needs, analyzing test results, documenting defects, setting up test environments, executing test scripts, providing daily status reports, participating in team meetings, and providing input on training. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Mercury Interactive test tools (Test Director, WinRunner, LoadRunner), strong programming knowledge, and experience with various testing methodologies (integration, conformance, module, functional testing). Strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential.

Must have:

7+ years Software Engineering & QA experience
Team lead experience
Expertise in software testing methodologies
Mercury Interactive tools experience
Strong programming knowledge

Good to have:

Remedy knowledge
UNIX experience
Project planning tools experience (NIKU Workbench)

Who We're Looking For

The Senior System Engineer QA is responsible for implementing the established testing methodology by participating in, and supporting all required activities to ensure all process controls are adhered to and completed in a timely and cost effective manner. Provide direction for the development and maintenance of Testing Procedures and ensure adherence to all business processes.

Some Of What You'll Do

Duties and responsibilities:

Provide assistance and consulting to Development and Product Support teams on project activities.

Develop and create work plans and schedules for Test Project activities.

Coach and train Testing employees to assist in fulfillment of job responsibilities.

Ability to work from functional specifications to write test plans.

Perform team lead responsibilities in managing test plans and schedules

Assign tasks and track Project deliverables

Identify resource needs and acquire resources

Analyze, develop, and manage test cases using Mercury Interactive test tools.

Consult with Development and Production Support to identify test data

Properly diagnose test results and document product defects.

Setup test environment and follow release notes to install product releases and fixes.

Execute test scripts and cases and initiate modifications if necessary.

Provide daily test statuses on testing progress and issues.

Actively participate in product and project team meetings.

Provide input on training requirements and available classes for the Test team.

Keep abreast of business needs and stay current with technology trends.

Requirements

7+ years Software Engineering experience, including 6+ years experience working in a

Quality Assurance testing environment.

Team lead experience.

Expertise in formal software testing methodologies.

Integration testing.

Conformance testing.

Module and Functional testing.

Conduct document inspections & reviews.

Scripting and automated software testing tools.

6+ years experience working with Mercury Test Director, WinRunner, and LoadRunner

testing tools.

Strong understanding of platforms (UNIX experience preferred).

Strong programming knowledge.

Remedy (Incident Tracking and Reporting tool) knowledge preferred.

Thorough understanding of Project Management methodology.

Project planning tools experience (i.e., NIKU Workbench).

Interviewing/Selection experience preferred.
