Job Description

Nielsen seeks a detail-oriented QA Engineer to join its ITAM Back Office Engineering team. The role involves manual and automated testing of Audience Measurement Engineering platforms used globally. Responsibilities include testing, debugging, problem-solving, and collaborating with international teams. Proficiency in programming (Java, Python), SQL (PostgreSQL), RESTful APIs, and testing frameworks is crucial. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills, a commitment to code quality, and experience with tools like Jira and Confluence.

Must have:

3+ years of experience in manual and automated testing
Strong testing & debugging abilities
Proficiency in Java and Python
SQL (PostgreSQL) and database management
Experience with RESTful APIs
Excellent communication skills (written & spoken English)

Good to have:

Experience with JIRA and Confluence
Experience building unit/integration tests and test automation

Nielsen is seeking an organized, detail oriented, team player, to join the ITAM Back Office Engineering team in the role of Test Engineer. Nielsen’s Audience Measurement Engineering platforms support the measurement of television viewing in more than 30 countries around the world. Ideal candidates will have exceptional skills in programming, testing, debugging and problem solving as well as effective communication and writing skills.

Required Skills:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer or Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent
3+ years relevant work experience in manual and automated tests .
Strong testing and debugging abilities, functional, analytical and technical abilities, ability to find bugs, attention to detail, troubleshooting .
Ability to communicate in English (conduct written and spoken daily conversations with English speakers from 30+ countries around the world.. Effective communication and writing skills are a must .
Experience with tools like JIRA and Software Development and Collaboration tools such as Confluence
Desire to be deeply involved in product supplementation and automation .
Appreciation for and commitment to clean, reusable and well-tested code, architecture, and documentation .
Strong analytical skills and sense of technical creativity
Excellent debugging and problem solving skills
Detail oriented with a commitment to innovation
SQL Programming (PostgreSQL), database management
Experienced in building RESTful APIs.
Experience in writing unit/integration tests including test automation.
