The QA Engineer is expected to assist the team in delivering high-quality and impactful products to the team. QA Engineer strives to deliver high-quality features that align with the company's values of excellence, collaboration, transparency, and empathy. The QA Engineer works independently on most aspects of the project but is collaborative, seeking input from peers and working together to deliver outstanding results. This role's impact on the success of the team's projects is crucial. The QA Engineer is expected to be largely autonomous and handle complex tasks.
What You'll Do:
- Work and collaborate will fellow QA Engineers and Software engineers.
- Assist junior team members with simple problems.
- Follows and champions our engineering culture.
- Provide accurate testing effort estimates for medium-complexity features.
- Split up bigger testing problems into smaller tasks.
- Prioritize the important test tasks from less important based on business needs.
- Diagnose bugs with medium complexity independently.
- Helps to on-board new engineers and introduces them to the product domain and test automation tooling perspective.
- Gives accurate status updates about ongoing tasks.
- Assist with implementation of Quality Assistance model to shift testing left in the agile software development process.
- Is able to independently write test plans for well defined features.
- Is capable of planning the team test strategy and independently executing test strategy.
- Regularly reviewing code changes before testing or automating tests.
- Evaluate and request for mock services to improve testability where appropriate.
- Regularly reviewing team’s test automation feedback. Knows how to address flaky tests with low to medium complexity.

What You'll Bring:
- 4+ years of relevant industry experience required.
- Automation Expertise - Proven experience developing automated test scripts using JavaScript and TypeScript, with deep proficiency in WebdriverIO and Playwright. Familiarity with Java for backend or server-side testing is a plus.
- Mobile Testing Experience - Hands-on experience testing mobile applications on iOS and Android, using both real devices and cloud platforms. We follow a mobile-first testing approach, so familiarity with mobile-specific use cases—such as varied screen sizes, low battery scenarios, app interruptions (e.g., phone calls, notifications), and transitions between background/foreground states—is highly valued.
- Monitoring & Debugging - Working knowledge of Splunk, Datadog, and Lightstep for monitoring application health, investigating production issues, and performing root cause analysis. Experience with distributed tracing tools like Lightstep is a strong plus.
- SQL Proficiency - Comfortable writing and executing SQL queries to validate backend data, support testing scenarios, and troubleshoot issues.
- Tool Ecosystem Familiarity - Prior experience with key tools in our QA ecosystem—such as Sauce Labs, Testlio, Jenkins, and Lightstep—is a plus. Understanding of how these tools integrate into a CI/CD pipeline is desirable.
