Job Description

As a QA Engineer, Manual at Spotnana, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our travel platform. You will design, develop, and execute test cases, scenarios, and plans for Spotnana services and applications. You will work closely with development and product teams to analyze requirements and translate them into comprehensive test strategies. Your responsibilities will include executing and analyzing test results, reporting defects, performing regression testing, and supporting releases and deployments. You will also contribute to defining and monitoring quality assurance metrics for continuous improvement. This role requires a strong understanding of software development and testing methodologies, experience with web applications and services, and excellent communication skills. You will be working in a fast-paced environment and collaborating with a team of talented engineers to deliver high-quality products.
Must have:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science or equivalent
  • 5 - 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Good knowledge of Software development life cycle and Test life cycle
  • Experience working in Scrum teams
  • Expertise validating Web-Application and Web-Services
  • Excellent understanding of REST APIs and their usage
  • Experience testing API’s with Postman or similar tool
  • Experience in working or testing with distributed architecture
  • Experience with Test Management tool like TestRail
  • Experience with Project Management like JIRA
  • Problem-solving capabilities
  • Good understanding with automation tools or frameworks
  • Ability to collaborate and work well with others
  • Experience in testing related to Travel Domain (Air/Hotel/Car/Rail booking applications)
  • Self-directed and detail-oriented
  • Curiosity and attention to details
  • Can do attitude

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and execute Test Case, Test Scenario and Test plans for Spotnana services and applications.
  • Oversee technical scope and design of projects to ensure that projects deliver the expected value on time and with high quality.
  • Analyze Functional and non-functional requirements and design test scenarios in coordination with Development and Product teams.
  • Execute and Analyze test results in order to report defects and discrepancies found.
  • Perform Regression and support release and deployments.
  • Define and monitor quality assurance metrics for continuous quality & process improvements.
  • Estimating efforts, identifying risks, devising mitigation, and meeting project schedules
  • Communicating clearly with internal and external stakeholders regarding progress, roadblocks, and timelines.
  • Make recommendations to enhance existing test suites and test cases for future regression.
  • Analyze manual test cases and functional specifications in order to evaluate the potential automation. Focussed on how to removing manual dependencies, innovate new methods to optimize testing cycles to minimize manual effort.
  • Leading by example and keeping enthusiasm high in tight-deadline situations.
  • Work closely with management to identify risks, solve problems, and maintain progress, and target online deliveries with high-quality benchmarks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Masters in Computer Science or equivalent with 5 - 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Good knowledge of Software development life cycle and Test life cycle. Experience working in Scrum teams.
  • Candidate worked/working for a Travel Company is a Huge Plus and preferred
  • Expertise validating Web-Application and Web-Services.
  • Excellent understanding of the REST APIs and their usage, testing API’s with Postman or similar tool and micro-services, blue-green setups.
  • Experience in working or testing with distributed architecture.
  • Experience with Test Management tool like TestRail and Project Management like JIRA.
  • Problem-solving capabilities, and solution provider.
  • Should have good understanding with automation tools or frameworks.
  • Solving complex testing challenges and translating the same to the team.
  • Ability to collaborate and work well with others at all levels in the organization.
  • Experience in testing related to Travel Domain. Air/Hotel/Car/Rail booking applications.
  • Must be self-directed and detail-oriented
  • Curiosity to get in depth and attention to details.
  • Can do attitude
  • Able to work from Spotnana's office in Bangalore, India in a hybrid structure
