Job Description

Your life at Ubi 

As the Director of Quality Control at Ubisoft, you will oversee a team of 900 QC professionals across our Bucharest and Craiova studios, ensuring the achievement of departmental objectives and excellence in the QC aspects of the game development cycle throughout various specialties, including quality control, automation, console, and mobile. 

Your role will focus on driving the efficiency and performance of the Quality organization throughout the production process, strategically developing talent, and aligning the QC department with worldwide QC Direction’s vision and Ubisoft's broader goals. A key responsibility will be fostering a culture of continuous improvement and optimization. 

 

Your main mission

  • Implement global worldwide QC strategies while enhancing studio strengths by sharing best practices with other QC Directors. 
  • Oversee QC process execution, ensuring alignment with worldwide QC performance indicators and providing detailed follow-ups. 
  • Conduct in-depth analyses of QC planning and the studio’s capacity to support global projects, leveraging local expertise and resources. 
  • Collaborate with local and global teams to introduce new services, cutting-edge standards, and test procedures across Ubisoft. 
  • Build strong relationships with external and internal stakeholders to ensure client satisfaction, managing expectations on budgets and timelines. 
  • Strategize headcount, staffing, and process efficiency while driving performance assessments, motivation, and talent development across the QC team. 
  • Optimize the QC structure to maximize quality, resource allocation, and productivity, while expanding capabilities in specialized testing and automation. 

Qualifications

The professional value you bring 

  • Extensive experience in QC leadership, team management, and strategic planning within software/tech, video game, or similar industries. 
  • Proven track record in shipping projects on a global scale in complex environments with multi-million-euro budgets. 
  • Hands-on experience with Lean Six Sigma initiatives or comparable continuous improvement methodologies. 
  • Strong expertise in project, change, and stakeholder management. 
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills across all levels of the organization. 
  • In-depth knowledge of QC processes, debugging, and industry standards. 
  • Thorough understanding of the production cycle and technical aspects of software or video game testing. 
  • Experience in the gaming industry is an advantage.
