Job Description

Pentair is seeking a Quality Engineer in Delavan, WI to enhance product and process quality. This role involves applying common quality tools and lean fundamentals to support new product development, improve manufacturing and assembly quality, and analyze customer returns. Key responsibilities include daily production quality demands, process control analysis, problem-solving, and active participation in design and development teams using APQP tools. The engineer will also manage supplier corrective actions, lead the PPAP process, address customer complaints, ensure QMS compliance, and maintain the gage calibration system.

Must Have:

  • Evaluate process capability and apply appropriate statistical techniques and control methods.
  • Play an active role in design and development teams to build quality into products and processes using APQP tools.
  • Work with manufacturing engineers, quality personnel, and sourcing to address and drive supplier corrective actions through MRB process, formal corrective actions, and 8-D problem solving techniques.
  • Lead PPAP process, both from an internal and external requirement, including compiling necessary measurement and process studies and interfacing with the customer.
  • Interface with customers and customer service to address customer complaints and returns, working with quality technicians and manufacturing engineers to analyze returns and drive corrective action.
  • Ensure compliance with all aspects of the Quality Management System by executing audits and conducting follow-up corrective actions.
  • Responsible for Document control, technical writing of procedures, work instructions, forms, and production reports.
  • Maintain gage calibration system to support measurement needs in production and QA.
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering preferred).
  • 5-7 years of experience in Manufacturing Operations and Quality.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite programs (with emphasis on Excel).
  • Proven oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience with APQP tools, PPAP process, and basic SPC tools.
  • Working background in ISO9001.
  • Metrology experience and GD&T understanding.

We have an opportunity for a Quality Engineer to join our Delavan, WI team. You will be using common quality tools along with lean fundamentals to help achieve higher levels of product and process quality through new product development support, manufacturing and assembly quality improvements, and customer return analysis. You will:

  • Actively engage in day-to-day production quality demands and improvements which will include process control analysis, basic problem solving, data mining and analysis, interface and communication with the factory floor on product/process improvements, and problem-solving leadership using formal 8-D problem solving tools.
  • Evaluate process capability and apply appropriate statistical techniques and control methods to meet quality, performance, and cost objectives.
  • Play an active role in design and development teams to “build quality in” to our products and processes by using Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) tools: such as FMEA, control plan, PPAP, process capability development, etc.
  • Work with manufacturing engineers, quality personnel, and sourcing to address and drive supplier corrective actions through MRB (Material Review Board) process, formal corrective actions, and 8-D problem solving techniques.
  • Candidate will also interface directly with suppliers and support supplier quality in component improvement processes. Lead/manage supplier charge back process.
  • Lead PPAP process, both from an internal and external requirement. This will involve leading and compiling all the necessary measurement and process studies as well as interfacing directly with the customer for submittal.
  • Interface with customers and customer service to address customer complaints and returns. Candidate will work with quality technicians and manufacturing engineers to analyze customer returns and drive corrective action.
  • Ensure compliance with all aspects of the Quality Management System by executing audits and conducting follow-up corrective actions to maintain and improve the system, both internally and externally.
  • Responsible for Document control, technical writing of procedures, work instructions, forms, and production reports.
  • Maintain gage calibration system to support measurement needs in production and QA.
  • Other job functions as assigned.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering preferred) with 5-7 years of experience in Manufacturing Operations and Quality.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite programs (with emphasis on Excel)
  • Proven oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience with APQP tools
  • Experience with PPAP process
  • Experience with basic SPC tools
  • Experience with Project Management tools preferred.
  • Working background in ISO9001.

Compensation:

For this full-time position working at this location, the anticipated annualized base pay range will be from $71000 - $131800 / year. At Pentair, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the pay range. Pentair considers various factors in determining actual compensation for this position at the expected location. Actual compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, work location, and other relevant business or organizational needs. This position may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as an annual incentive bonus.
