Job Description

The Regional Analyst at YouTube's Intelligence Desk will focus on India, identifying and assessing content trends and their impact on the platform. This role requires analyzing the social, political, and cultural context in India to anticipate potential content implications. The analyst will build knowledge of the Indian YouTube ecosystem, communicate findings to executive management and cross-functional stakeholders, and support operational teams during critical situations to mitigate content risks. Responsibilities include understanding the Indian social, political, and cultural landscape, building expertise in the Indian YouTube ecosystem, and communicating analyses to drive risk mitigation decisions.

Must have:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
5 years of experience in intelligence analysis
Fluency in English and Hindi
Excellent analytical and communication skills
Understanding of Indian socio-political context

Good to have:

Knowledge of Indian events, political and economic drivers
Knowledge of YouTube and social media ecosystem
Knowledge of online abuse

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
5 years of experience in intelligence collection and analysis in a government intelligence organization or business environment.
Ability to communicate in English and Hindi fluently, to help implement and enforce our policies of content videos in these languages.

Preferred qualifications:

Knowledge of Indian events; political, economic, and cultural drivers of global conflicts, and how social media impacts contentious issues.
Knowledge of YouTube and the social media ecosystem, to include online abuse.
Excellent collaboration, analytic, writing, and critical-thinking skills.

In this role, you will be a key member of the Intel Desk’s regionally focused intelligence team, charged with identifying and assessing trends in India to determine their impact on YouTube content. You will work with cross-functional teams across Trust and Safety and YouTube to get ahead of content trends, making YouTube a safer place for users.

Responsibilities

Understand the social, political, and cultural context in India to anticipate and analyze potential YouTube content implications.
Build knowledge in the Indian YouTube ecosystem and develop familiarity with video and channel content.
Communicate nuanced analysis to executive management and cross-functional stakeholders in order to drive prioritization and risk mitigation decisions.
Support operational counterparts during fast-moving and ambiguous situations to assist in the mitigation of content risk on YouTube.
