The manager will drive buzz, make Duolingo an iconic brand, and work with global teams to create bold, creative campaigns that resonate with Southeast Asian audiences.   • Educate agencies on best-in-class social practices and evolve strategy with data.
  • Drive large-scale content campaigns, including creator collaborations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with top influencers across various industries.
  • Deep cultural awareness of Southeast Asia and social trends.
  • Track record of achieving results with bold ideas, not big budgets.
  • Storytelling skills to build compelling narratives.
  • 8+ years of consumer or social marketing experience, ideally with global/regional brands.
  • Deep knowledge of YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and emerging SEA platforms.
  • Hands-on experience in content creation with native social tools.
  • Proficient in English with strong writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to spot cultural opportunities and drive buzz with small-budget stunts.

About the role

Make the world’s most popular language-learning app famous in Southeast Asia!

We are seeking a Country Marketing Manager to lead our efforts in Southeast Asia. You’ll own our growth results. Capturing cultural trends and sparking word-of-mouth conversations are at the core of our strategy — you’ll lead our presence in Southeast Asia, blending Duo into the region’s culture, driving buzz, and making Duolingo one of the most iconic brands in the region. As a core member of our growing marketing team, you are someone who has a deep understanding of social platforms, is comfortable with video production & editing, and lives and breathes social trends.

Reporting to the Regional Marketing Director, you will partner closely with Global Marketing teams in Pittsburgh and New York, as well as Country Marketing Managers around the world, to find opportunities and create bold, creative campaigns that resonate with Southeast Asian audiences.

The ideal candidate is highly creative and self-motivated, has excellent communication skills, and collaborates well with others.

You will...

  • Work closely with our Regional Marketing Director to define success on social in Southeast Asia, ensuring we have the right resources and most impactful channels.
  • Lead our social agency relationships in the region, strengthening our social strategy and ensuring we’re creating buzzworthy content that people want to share.
  • Develop social-first, culture-first campaigns in Southeast Asia that make Duolingo iconic and grow our reach.
  • Educate and guide our agencies on best-in-class social practices, while evolving our strategy with data and rapid experimentation.
  • Drive large-scale content campaigns ranging from creator collaborations to multi-channel activations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with top-performing influencers across industries like education, lifestyle, travel, fashion, and sports.

  • A track record of achieving phenomenal results with bold ideas rather than big budgets.
  • Storytelling skills, with the creativity to build compelling narratives that spark conversation.
  • 8+ years of consumer or social marketing experience, ideally working with global or regional brands.
  • Deep knowledge of YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and emerging SEA platforms.
  • Hands-on experience in content creation, especially with native social tools.
  • Proficient in English with strong writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to spot cultural opportunities and drive buzz with scrappy, small-budget stunts that make Duolingo the talk of the town.
