Our Technology Development and Manufacturing and Operation groups are integral to Intel's global network of manufacturing and assembly/test facilities.
Position Overview: Intel's ambitious technology development roadmap demands innovative solutions for transistor and interconnect semiconductor reliability testing.
As a Lab Engineer, you will collaborate with the Technology Development Quality and Reliability (TD FQR) team to implement and sustain advanced reliability test systems. Your work will drive the characterization of semiconductor devices, ensuring quality data collection for current and future technology nodes, and contribute to the continuous improvement of semiconductor reliability labs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the installation, qualification, and release to production of semiconductor test stations at either the wafer-level (WLR) or packaged unit test-structure level.
- Ensure lab standards by maintaining adherence to Quality Management System protocols and laboratory specifications.
- Oversee lab safety compliance by conducting risk assessments and implementing safety improvements.
- Extract and analyze data from databases, scripting analyses to support semiconductor device reliability discussions.
- Utilize data analytics to identify improvement opportunities and implement strategies to enhance lab efficiency and reliability.
- Drive the integration of new hardware with custom automation software, defining requirements and developing test programs.
- Operate and maintain various electrical measurement tools, including parametric analyzers, SMUs, oscilloscopes, DMMs, and power supplies.
Qualifications:
- Excellent communication skills and ability to lead and execute commitments.
- Advanced systematic and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and quality of work.
- Ability to communicate results and influence technical stakeholders.
- Strategic thinking with the ability to understand the big picture and apply systematic thinking to generate solutions.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree with 4+ years of relevant experience, or Bachelor's degree with 6+ years in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field.
- Extensive experience in hands-on electrical characterization, measurement, and hardware debugging.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, or LabView.
- In-depth understanding of semiconductor fabrication processes, testing, and/or device physics.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with testing, characterization, or fabrication of semiconductor devices.
- Knowledge of basic semiconductor reliability failure mechanisms (e.g., hot-carrier, bias-temperature-instability, electromigration).
- Experience in experimental design execution and interpretation.
- Familiarity with statistical analysis and hypothesis testing.
- Proficiency in JMP, JSL, and SQL.
