Job Details

Overview

Research Internships at Microsoft provide a dynamic environment for research careers with a network of world-class research labs led by globally-recognized scientists and engineers, who pursue innovation in a range of scientific and technical disciplines to help solve complex challenges in diverse fields, including computing, healthcare, economics, and the environment.

Are you passionate about cloud computing and eager to make a real impact? Do you enjoy solving complex problems and optimizing performance? Are you ready to join a team with a growth mindset at one of the world's leading tech companies? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!

We are looking for a dedicated Research Intern to join our Azure Front Door team. In this role, you will work on finding innovative ways to improve the server efficiency and performance of Azure Front Door and implement these solutions. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a critical component of Microsoft's cloud infrastructure and gain valuable experience in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

About Azure Front Door:

Azure Front Door is a modern cloud content delivery network (CDN) service designed to provide fast, reliable, and secure access to customers' origin globally. It leverages Microsoft's extensive global edge network to enhance user experiences by reducing latency, increasing scalability, and improving security.

Why Server Efficiency and Performance Matter:

In a CDN like Azure Front Door, server efficiency and performance are crucial for several reasons:

  • Edge Locations: Edge locations in a CDN are generally small and lack elastic capacity, making it crucial to serve more with less. Efficient servers ensure that content is delivered quickly and reliably, even during high traffic periods.
  • Overall Performance: High-performance servers reduce latency, improve load times, enhance reliability, and contribute to cost efficiency by optimizing server performance and reducing the load on origin servers.

At Microsoft, we believe in empowering every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As a Research Intern on the Azure Front Door team, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology, collaborate with talented professionals, and make a real impact. We value diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive.
