We are looking for a dedicated Research Intern to join our Azure Front Door team. In this role, you will work on finding innovative ways to improve the server efficiency and performance of Azure Front Door and implement these solutions. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a critical component of Microsoft's cloud infrastructure and gain valuable experience in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

• Edge Locations: Edge locations in a CDN are generally small and lack elastic capacity, making it crucial to serve more with less. Efficient servers ensure that content is delivered quickly and reliably, even during high traffic periods.
• Overall Performance: High-performance servers reduce latency, improve load times, enhance reliability, and contribute to cost efficiency by optimizing server performance and reducing the load on origin servers.

During the 12-week internship, Research Interns are paired with mentors and expected to collaborate with other Research Interns and researchers, present findings, and contribute to the vibrant life of the community. Research internships are available in all areas of research, and are offered year-round, though they typically begin in the summer.

Additional Responsibilities

• Conduct research to identify opportunities for improving server efficiency within Azure Front Door.
• Develop and implement solutions to enhance performance and reduce latency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate and test new features.
• Analyze data and metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of implemented solutions.
• Document findings and present recommendations to the team.
