This Research Product Manager role at Google Cloud's Domain Applied ML (DAML) focuses on bridging the gap between cutting-edge Generative AI research and product development. You will work cross-functionally, guiding products from conception to launch. They should excel at communication, collaboration, and strategic planning.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in product management or related technical role.
  • 2 years of experience in developing or launching products; or technologies within Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning (AI or ML).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a technology or business related field.
  • 2 years experience developing new Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) technologies.
  • 2 years of experience in a business role (e.g., strategy, business operations, consulting).
  • Experience taking a product from 0 to 1 and from 1 to 10.
  • Experience managing day-to-day technical and research directions.
  • Experience product managing internal ML infrastructure, advocating for its use cases, and growing its adoption.

Domain Applied ML (DAML) is a translational research group within CoreML that focuses on developing the novel research that our product areas (PAs) need to become the best at bringing the latest and greatest Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) capabilities into Google products. DAML is positioned at the crossroads of CoreML, Google DeepMind (GDM) and our PAs.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $142,000-$211,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Maintain an understanding of the development workflows that GenAI product builders traverse so that you can propose the biggest opportunities to 10x those workflows with novel research innovations.
  • Articulate the current state of the art in your research area so that you can make a business case for why or why not additional innovation is needed or not in that area.
  • Build productive and trusting partnerships with your DAML research team, CoreML teammates, GDM colleagues, PA partners; maintain communication across these groups.
  • Establish a multi-year research roadmap that you will adjust as new opportunities or technologies emerge; translating that roadmap into action across scales (e.g., weekly deliverables, OKRs).
  • Be the spokesperson for your research area within CoreML and also across Google; advocate for your research team such that you collectively deliver the highest impact.
