Job Description

This Research Sciences Intern position at Microsoft's Applied Sciences Group (ASG) focuses on cutting-edge research in Large Language Models (LLMs), Vision-Language Models (VLMs), and Generative Image & Video. Interns will collaborate with experienced researchers and engineers, designing and implementing experiments, developing algorithms and models, and integrating research into practical solutions. Responsibilities include conducting research in LLMs, VLMs, and generative image & video; designing and implementing experiments; developing and optimizing algorithms and models; collaborating with the team; and presenting research findings. The internship is located in Berlin, Germany and offers an opportunity to contribute to advancements in AI technologies.

Must have:

PhD in relevant field
Strong background in LLMs, VLMs, or Generative Image & Video
Proficiency in Python
Experience with ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch)
Excellent problem-solving skills
Strong communication skills

The Applied Sciences Group (ASG) is seeking a highly motivated and talented PhD student to join our team as a Research Intern. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge research in the fields of Large Language Models (LLMs), Vision-Language Models (VLMs), and Generative Image & Video. The successful candidate will collaborate with a team of experienced researchers and engineers to tackle real-world challenges and contribute to the advancement of AI technologies.

Qualifications

Required: Qualifications:

Currently pursuing a PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field.

Strong background in LLMs, VLMs, or Generative Image & Video.

Proficiency in programming languages such as Python.

Experience with machine learning frameworks and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Strong communication skills and the ability to present complex ideas clearly.

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong track record of success, evidenced by publications in prestigious computer vision and machine learning conferences, including NeurIPS, ECCV, ICCV, CVPR.
Proven software engineering capabilities, evidenced by professional experience, internships, impactful open-source contributions, and success in coding competitions.
