Job Description
As a Risk Officer at our company, your role is central to the identification, assessment, and mitigation of risk across all facets of our business operations.
You will serve as a guardian of the company's data integrity and a strategist for risk management, extending your vigilance across various departments including HR, Business Development, and IT. By ensuring that risk is not only understood but also expertly managed, you will enable our teams to innovate and operate with the confidence that their initiatives are within the bounds of our risk appetite and compliance requirements.
Your role as a Risk Officer will not only encompass managing technological and informational risks but also understanding the interconnectedness of risks across all company operations. You will be the keystone in ensuring that strategic decisions are made with a full understanding of their risk implications, allowing for innovation and growth within a secure and compliant framework
Daily tasks:
- developing and leading the company's risk management framework to identify, assess, and mitigate risks that span across various departments,
- acting as a data steward, ensuring the integrity and security of company data through the enforcement of robust governance policies,
- implementing and overseeing the adherence to Minimal Information Security Requirements (MISR) in all contractual agreements,
- analyzing and optimizing control measures in line with the Critical Information Security (CIS) Controls for effective risk management,
- collaborating with different departments to ensure a unified approach to risk that aligns with the organization's objectives and regulatory obligations,
- conducting regular risk assessments and audits to proactively identify potential issues and develop strategic plans to address them.
Qualifications
- proven experience in risk management, with the ability to oversee risk across a diverse organization,
- strong understanding of data governance and the role of a data steward in safeguarding company information,
- familiarity with information security frameworks and requirements, including MISR and CIS Controls,
- ability to work collaboratively across departments to build a cohesive and comprehensive risk management strategy,
- excellent communication skills with the capability to articulate complex risk scenarios to stakeholders at all levels,
- fluent in English
- commitment to staying abreast of the latest developments in risk management and data protection.
Nice to have:
- certifications related to risk management, cybersecurity, or data governance (e.g., CRISC, CISM, CISSP),
- experience with legal and regulatory compliance, including GDPR, ISO/IEC 27001, and other relevant frameworks,
- demonstrated ability to design and deliver risk management training to a variety of audiences, enhancing company-wide awareness and competencies,
- skilled in the use of risk assessment tools and software to streamline analysis and reporting.
