The Royalty Accountant will be responsible for analyzing month-end data for Royalties, Royalty Calculation, and Reporting. This contract position involves collaborating with Legal, Finance, Content Strategy, and AR teams to review and report outbound royalty statements, reconciling general ledger accounts, preparing journal entries, supporting audits and forecasting, and ensuring compliance with GAAP. The role requires strong analytical skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
Must have:
  • BS in Accounting/Finance or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in Accounting.
  • Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good to have:
  • Comfortable working with applications, data, and other technical teams preferred.

POSITION SUMMARY

Bandai Namco Entertainment America’s Royalty Accountant will play an integral role within the Finance team. They will be responsible for analyzing month-end data for Royalties, Royalty Calculation and Reporting. They will be a self-starter and possess impeccable attention to detail, be comfortable with large data set and manipulation, possess strong financial savvy, have a high aptitude for technology and financial systems, and a strong desire and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.  

This is a contract position, and the duration of the role will be for 6 months.

Join us at our new campus in Irvine, California where an in-person work schedule will be observed. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Collaborate with Legal, Finance, Content Strategy, and AR teams to review and report outbound royalty statements. 
  • Reconcile and maintain the general ledger accounts and balance sheets. 
  • Prepare the necessary Journal entries at month end to record intercompany royalty accruals. 
  • Support the quarter / year-end audit by preparing and maintaining assigned audit schedules and provide additional information to resolve issues when requested 
  • Participate in the monthly, quarterly and year-end close processes 
  • Support monthly forecasting by providing analysis and ensure accurate record keeping of royalties   
  • Assist on compilation of management reporting packages & analysis 
  • Prepare and maintain assigned audit schedules 
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal practices, and applicable regulations  
  • Perform other accounting responsibilities and support other staff as assigned or required 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

  • BS in Accounting/Finance or equivalent work experience 
  • 5+ years in Accounting  
  • Comfortable working with applications, data, and other technical teams preferred  
  • Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills  
  • Advanced Excel skills  
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Highly detail-oriented and able to multitask; ability to meet deadlines and competing priorities  

SALARY RANGE

$84,000 - $90,000

Actual base salary will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, but not limited to, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs. The salary range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees and it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
