The Sales Account Manager I (SAM I) represents Scientific Games and the Oklahoma Lottery in retail locations. Responsibilities include covering assigned territories, recruiting new retailers, implementing the 'raise them right' program, executing promotions, and providing lottery training. The role requires independent work, managing inventory, ensuring proper product placement, and adhering to company policies. Data analysis to influence retail decisions and educating retailers and players are key aspects. This position demands strong communication, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Must have:
  • Represent Scientific Games & Oklahoma Lottery in retail locations
  • Recruit new retailers & execute 'raise them right' program
  • Manage inventory, ensure product placement & adhere to policies
  • Educate retailers & players on lottery products & promotions
  • Analyze sales data & influence retail decisions
  • Excellent communication & problem-solving skills
Good to have:
  • Experience in the lottery industry
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Position Summary

Position Summary:

A Scientific Games Sales Account Manager I (SAM I) is responsible for representing the Oklahoma Lottery and Scientific Games daily in retailer locations throughout the state. Their primary responsibilities include coverage and supporting other routes/territories as needed, recruiting new lottery retailers and executing the raise them right program at new retail locations. Secondary responsibilities include executing and supporting lottery promotions and lottery training as requested.  The position requires the ability to work with minimal daily supervision as well as work independently.

Job Functions:

Sales

  • Support open territories or routes as assigned
  • Establish and maintain rapport with decision makers at each retailer
  • Accountable to drive new retailers to achieve optimal sales targets
  • Reviews sales trends, goals and opportunities with retailer
  • Analyze and utilize data daily to influence retail decision makers on their Lottery needs
  • Promote Oklahoma Lottery products upon each retailer visit
  • Grow the Oklahoma Lottery Instant game portfolio by increasing Bin count utilizing sales performance data
  • Educate retailers and lottery players on all instant and draw games provided by the lottery
  • Participate and engage in all Scientific Games Inc. and Oklahoma Lottery sales meetings by providing sales trends feedback

Merchandising

  • Ensure proper inventory levels are maintained for every retailer within the designated route territory
  • Ensure all products are in stock and ready to be sold
  • Provide each retailer with updated Point of Sale material upon each sales call
  • Achieve and maintain the best placement for all Lottery games and Point of Sale material in each retail establishment
  • Adhere to all Oklahoma Lottery policies and procedures within each retailer
  • Maintain all proper Lottery information guides in each retailer
  • Ensure all equipment is working correctly upon each retail sales call
  • Document each sales call electronically
  • Conduct promotions at the retailer level, interreacting with the retailer and lottery consumer/players

Retailer Recruitment

  • Identify potential locations which could possibly sell Oklahoma lottery games
  • Present all Lottery products and the benefits of selling Oklahoma Lottery products to potential businesses
  • Execute the entire application process with potential new customers

Retailer Training

  • Conduct training with retailer employees on the policies and procedures of the Oklahoma Lottery as needed
  • Educate Lottery customers/players about current initiatives while working in retail locations
  • Provide hands-on training for related retailer equipment
     

General Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the highest level of integrity and professionalism in completing all responsibilities and duties while representing both Scientific Games Inc, and the Oklahoma Lottery
  • Adhere and uphold all policies set forth by Scientific Games Inc and the Oklahoma Lottery
  • Maintain a safe work environment and clean driving record
  • Perform annual training requirements
  • All other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Sales or related field or equivalent experience of 2 years minimum is preferred
  • Experience with the Lottery operation/industry is preferred
  • Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record (to be maintained)

Qualifications

Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Ability to remain tactful and diplomatic in difficult situations
  • Ability to train others on products and promotions
  • Ability to quickly troubleshoot both mechanical and system issues
  • Positive and self-motivated attitude
  • Ability to work individually and with others as a team

  • Lift up to 40 pounds consistently
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
