Job Description

Alation is seeking a Sales Development Representative to join their high-growth Data Intelligence company. This role is crucial for driving Alation's growth engine, owning strategy, prospecting, and influencing from the start. The ideal candidate will partner with Account Executives, Marketing, and Partnerships to drive territory strategy and execution. Responsibilities include leveraging tools like Outreach and Sales Navigator to craft effective messages, researching, writing, and connecting with prospects. The role involves engaging with senior decision-makers from individual contributors to the C-suite, adapting storytelling for both technical and business audiences. There are opportunities for rapid growth into roles such as Account Executive, Account Manager, or Solutions Engineer. The position also requires representing Alation at industry events and gatherings.
Must have:
  • 5-8+ years of SDR/BDR experience
  • Passion for tech sales career
  • Experience with Salesforce, Outreach, Sales Navigator
  • Confidence speaking to senior decision-makers
  • Curiosity to learn fast
  • Problem-solving and resilience
Good to have:
  • Data or analytics experience

Job Description:

Are you ready to do more than just hit quota? At Alation, you’ll be the fuel behind our growth engine—owning strategy, prospecting, and influence from day one. This is not your average SDR role.

We’re a pre-IPO, high-growth Data Intelligence company with offices in Redwood City, Lehi, London, and Sydney. We’re looking for an SDR to join our team in Sydney who’s not just ready to connect with prospects but shape how we reach them.

We work in a hybrid model—you’ll join us in our Sydney office on Tuesdays and Thursdays to collaborate, connect, and enjoy a team atmosphere!

What You’ll Do:

  • Work in a high-impact POD model: You’ll be a true partner to your two AEs, Marketing, and Partnerships—driving strategy and execution across your territory.

  • Own your outreach: Leverage powerful tools (Outreach, Sales Nav, Zoominfo, Orum, Qualified, and more) and craft messages that actually convert. You’ll research, write, and connect like a pro.

  • Engage with execs: Sell to everyone from ICs to the C-suite—honing your storytelling for both technical and business audiences.

  • Grow fast: Crush your goals and you’ll have multiple paths forward—Account Executive, Account Manager, Solutions Engineer—you name it.

  • Go beyond the screen: Represent Alation at in-person events and industry gatherings.

You Should Have:

  • 5-8+ years of SDR, BDR, or similar experience with proven results.

  • A passion for building a career in tech sales (and maybe leadership down the line).

  • Experience with tools like Salesforce, Outreach, and Sales Navigator.

  • Confidence speaking to senior decision-makers, and the curiosity to learn fast.

  • A love of problem-solving, resilience, and thinking like an owner.

  • Bonus points for data or analytics experience, or a relevant degree.
