Job Description

The Sales Development Representative (SDR) will prospect and qualify potential customers for the Vimeo Sales team. The role involves generating and qualifying new prospects, identifying potential business opportunities, and converting them into qualified leads. Key responsibilities include researching companies and individuals, developing customer profiles, conducting outbound campaigns, scheduling meetings, and exceeding monthly goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of customer needs and the ability to create engaging outreach strategies, including email and phone calls. The candidate will also learn how to anticipate and prepare for objections, along with the ability to manage a high volume of inbound leads. This role requires an understanding of various lines of business and personas.
Must have:
  • 2+ years of work experience, preferably in sales or marketing.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven track record of success with a sales cycle.
  • Ability to identify customer needs and create outreach strategies.
  • High level of resilience and ability to handle objections.
  • Experience with CRM software like Salesforce.com.
Good to have:
  • Fluency in an additional language.
  • Experience with market research, lead generation.
  • Knowledge in SaaS businesses.

Job Details

We're looking for a Sales Development Representative (SDR) who will prospect and qualify potential customers for the Vimeo Sales team, building trust and rapport that result in qualified opportunities. The Sales Development Representative is the first point of contact between prospective customers and Vimeo and will be responsible for generating and qualifying new prospects. The ideal candidate has a keen eye for determining potential opportunities for new business, and can rapidly qualify, convert, and assign those conversations.

  • Prospect for new business, researching companies and individuals that meet criteria for prospective partnership with Vimeo
  • Develop ideal customer profiles for outbound prospecting and qualify prospects while leveraging BANT criteria
  • Grow top of sales funnel through warm and cold outbound campaigns
  • Build new methods for attracting clients
  • Schedule high quality meetings with prospective customers for the sales team
  • Work to meet and exceed monthly goals defined to maximize deal flow with outbound emails, calls, setting up meetings, etc.
  • Speaking to value and return on investment vs. technical functionality 
  • Learning how to anticipate and prepare for objections
  • Demonstrating adaptability and flexibility as part of an ever-growing sales organization
  • Managing a high volume of inbound leads with a strategy on prioritization of your leads
  • Researching and understanding various lines of business and personas
  • Work to meet and exceed monthly goals defined to maximize deal flow with outbound emails, calls, setting up meetings, etc.

Skills & knowledge you should possess:

  • 2+ years’ of work experience. Preferably in market research, lead generation, marketing or sales, ideally within SaaS businesses
  • Proven track record of success with a sales cycle
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Have an outgoing personality and the ability to hold an engaging conversation or write an attention-grabbing email.
  • Identify customer needs and solve for gaps with creative outreach strategy & discovery including, but limited to: email copy, warm/cold calls, social media outreach, in-person events
  • High level of resilience and ability to handle objection both over phone and email
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload to maximize efficiency
  • Represent the company and our products with a high degree of professionalism
  • A competitive nature and relentless drive to succeed
  • Experience with Salesforce.com or other CRM software, outreach, Chat tools, Zoominfo, SalesNav
  • Bonus points for fluency in an additional language
