Job Description

As a Sales Engineer at Gravitee, you will be a technical advisor to prospects and clients, guiding them through their digital transformation journey. Your role involves driving technical sales success, understanding and solving customer challenges, supporting and growing existing accounts, fostering strategic partnerships, and shaping the future of Gravitee. You will partner with Account Executives, conduct discovery sessions, deliver product demos, lead Proof of Concepts (PoCs), and provide expert technical guidance. You will also collaborate with Customer Success Managers and Technical Account Managers, engage with partners, and influence product evolution. You must have at least 3 years of experience in a similar role for a B2B vendor.
Must have:
  • 3+ years in Solutions Consultant/Architect/Engineering.
  • Experience with technical customer personas and providing solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to present technical topics.
  • Experience in middleware technology (API management, IAM).
  • Good knowledge of REST, JSON and XML.
  • Some scripting experience (Java/JavaScript/Python).
  • Hands-on experience with cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Ability to design deployment architectures (HA, DR, etc).
  • Understanding of Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD processes, and Linux.
  • Creativity to create material for discovering Gravitee
Good to have:
  • Understanding of Event Driven Architectures and APIs
  • Understanding of OAuth2 and OpenID Connect
  • Knowledge of Kafka, gRPC, GraphQL
  • Hands-on experience with LLMs or AI Agent frameworks or platforms

THE ROLE & WHY IT EXISTS

At Gravitee.io we are on a mission to empower organisations to unlock the full potential of their digital ecosystems. Our Sales Engineering team is at the heart of this mission, helping customers solve complex challenges with tailored, innovative solutions. 

As a Sales Engineer, you’ll be a trusted technical advisor to our prospects and existing clients, guiding them through their digital transformation journey. Your role will directly impact our growth by ensuring clients understand and leverage Gravitee’s platform to its fullest.


WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING Your daily to-do list will feature some or all of the following, but is not limited to:

  • Drive Technical Sales Success: Partner with Account Executives to lead the technical sales process, demonstrating Gravitee’s value and transforming prospects into happy, successful customers.
  • Understand & Solve Customer Challenges: Dive deep into customer needs, conducting discovery sessions, delivering impactful product demos, leading Proof of Concepts (PoCs), and providing expert technical guidance.
  • Support and Grow Existing Accounts: Collaborate with Customer Success Managers and Technical Account Managers to ensure our current customers maximize the value they get from Gravitee, identifying opportunities for growth and expansion.
  • Foster Strategic Partnerships: Engage with partners and service providers to explore new opportunities and technical collaborations that extend Gravitee’s reach and impact.
  • Shape the Future of Gravitee: Work closely with marketing, product development, and other teams to influence product evolution, provide customer feedback, and contribute to webinars, blog posts, and other content initiatives.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS The right candidate will possess at least the following skills, if not more

  • 3+ years in a previous Solutions Consultant, Solutions Architect or Solutions Engineering role for a B2B vendor
  • A track record of providing solutions and engaging with technical (e.g developer and architect) customer personas
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to present advanced technical topics and deliver tailored demos to different audiences
  • Experience working in middleware technology, ideally within API management, IAM or integration
  • Good knowledge of REST, JSON and XML
  • Some scripting experience, ideally with Java or JavaScript/Python
  • Hands-on experience with cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Ability to design deployment architectures (HA, DR, etc)
  • Understanding of Kubernetes, Docker, continuous integration and continuous delivery processes as well as experience with Linux
  • Creativity and innovation to come up with new material to have people discovering and learning about Gravitee

DESIRED SKILLS - Additionally, these skills are not required, but preferable:

  • Understanding of Event Driven Architectures and APIs
  • Understanding of OAuth2 and OpenID Connect
  • Knowledge of Kafka, gRPC, GraphQL
  • Hands-on experience with LLMs or AI Agent frameworks or platforms
