Job Description

This Junior SAS Developer role is based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, within a newly established technology center at a leading Asian bank. Responsibilities include enhancing and developing projects/change requests, participating in user requirements gathering, developing functionalities using Windows Scripting and SQL, designing Control-M jobs, conducting unit testing and SIT, supporting UAT, troubleshooting, providing bug fixes, migrating deliverables using Aldon tools, and documenting deliverables. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of experience in a techno-functional role within the financial domain, strong SAS (Base SAS + SAS VIYA), PL/SQL, and shell scripting skills, and experience with Oracle databases and SAS proprietary file systems. The role requires working independently, effective communication, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Must have:

1-3 years of relevant experience in finance.
Proficient in SAS (Base SAS + SAS VIYA).
Experience with Oracle databases and PL/SQL.
Shell scripting skills.
Good communication & problem-solving skills.

Project description

Our Client a leading bank in Asia with a global network of more than 500 branches and offices in 19 countries and territories in Asia Pacific, Europe, and North America are looking for Consultants to be part of the project.

The Technology and Operations function is comprised of five teams of specialists with distinct capabilities: business partnership, technology, operations, risk governance, and planning support and services. They work closely together to harness the power of technology to support our physical and digital banking services and operations. This includes developing, centralising and standardising technology systems as well as banking operations in Malaysia and overseas branches.

The client has more than 80 years of history in the banking industry and is expanding its footprint in Malaysia.
The selected resource will be working in a newly setup technology centre located in Kuala Lumpur as part of Technology and Operations to deliver innovative financial technology solutions that enable business growth and technology transformation.

Responsibilities

To enhance and develop projects/Change Requests related changes and to ensure deliverables are in good quality

To participate in user requirements gathering and able to provide impact analysis and efforts estimation

To develop functionalities to cater for business requirements using Windows Scripting, SQL

To design and build the Control-M jobs for batch processing

To carry out unit testing and SIT on the developed functions

To support UAT cycle, troubleshoot the issues, and provide bug fixes

To raise remedy tickets for required changes in controlled environments

To migrate deliverables objects using Aldon migration tools to UAT/Production environment

To provide proper documentation for all the deliverables

Skills

Must have

1 to 3 years of relevant experience in a techno-functional role in Financial domain.

Well-versed in SAS Technology

Working on SAS Proprietary file system, Oracle database

Candidate must be experienced with Base SAS + SAS VIYA, PL/SQL, Shell scripting

Environment: Linux

Preferred to be already in the Finance & Regulatory Domain

Able to work independently with minimum guidance

Have good communication skills (to work with various Teams including users)

Able to organize and prioritize assignments in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment

Good Team Player
