Activision's Elsewhere Entertainment seeks a Senior AI Designer to contribute to a new IP. Responsibilities include designing and implementing combat and non-combat NPCs, utilizing behavior trees, understanding animation requirements, working with in-house scripting, and collaborating across disciplines. The ideal candidate possesses at least 3 years of professional game industry experience, visual and object-oriented scripting expertise, and animation graph proficiency. Strong collaboration, problem-solving, and a team-first attitude are essential. Bonus points for AAA game development experience and familiarity with multiple game engines.

Elsewhere Entertainment is looking for a Senior AI Designer to join the development of a new IP.   
 
Feed your creativity while collaborating with our team of highly-skilled developers to build something innovative, exhilarating, and expansively entertaining! 
 
As a member of the gameplay department, you’ll design and implement a variety of non-player characters to bring life to the game’s world. 

 

As a member of the project, you’ll help take the studio and our game from great to even better—with a focus on inclusivity, mutual respect (for ourselves and our players), thoughtfulness, empathy, professionalism, and collaboration.  

 
You’ll help us by… 

  • Taking the ownership over design of combat and non-combat NPC and their behaviors 

  • Implementing the AI using behavior trees 

  • Understanding of animation requirements and dependencies 

  • Working with an in-house scripting language 

  • Collaborating with specialists from multiple disciplines 

 

You’re awesome because you have… 

  • At least 3 years of professional game industry experience 

  • Experience with visual and object-oriented scripting 

  • Experience with taking custody over character’s animation graphs 

  • The ability to collaborate and thrive as part of a creative team 

  • Creativity in problem solving and a positive, respectful team-first attitude 

  • Organization methods and the capability to meet deadlines 

  • Comfort with self-critique and accepting outside feedback 

  • A habit of regularly playing and understanding modern video games 

 

Bonus points for… 

  • From start to finish participating in development of a AAA project at gameplay design or AI design position 

  • Experience working with more than one development engine 

  • Enjoyment of playing a variety of video game genres and titles

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $80,800.00 - $149,400.00 Annual. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately, your specific range and offer will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, performance, and work location. Your Talent Professional can share this role’s range details for your local geography during the hiring process. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed. While we strive to provide competitive offers to successful candidates, new hire compensation is negotiable.
