Intel Integrated Photonics Solutions (IPS) is seeking a Senior Analog SerDes Design/Architect Engineer to join The Connectivity Group. This role involves developing key high-speed mixed-signal designs from architecture to product for next-generation optical interconnects. Responsibilities include defining circuit architecture, meeting power and performance targets, leading block-level development, specifying and designing low voltage/low power mixed-signal circuits, and collaborating with digital designers. The engineer will also plan design work, provide guidance to junior designers and layout engineers, develop test plans for post-silicon characterization, and document all design work.
Must have:
  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in high-speed serial links
  • Deep knowledge of analog CMOS/BiCMOS designs
  • Hands-on circuit design experience of SerDes blocks (Equalizers, PLL, Phase-Interpolators, CDR) for 28Gbps+ data rates
  • Experience with design of inductors, transmission lines, Trans-Impedance Amplifiers (TIA), and modulator drivers
  • Experience with design of precision analog circuits like ADC/DACs
  • Experience with designing PAM4/NRZ links
  • Experience with mixed-signal design flow
  • Experience with full-chip designs, ESDs, and verification flows
Good to have:
  • Familiarity with Optical communications
  • Experience with 400G/800G/1.6T optical links

In this role, the Senior Analog SerDes Architect / Design Engineer will be part of team contributing to Integrated Photonics Solutions Group's mission to transform and lead datacenter connectivity and enable Intel's differentiation in the networking space. As Senior Analog Design Engineer, the individual will be involved in developing key high-speed mixed signal designs from architecture to product.

Responsibilities

  • Defining circuit architecture and enabling designs meeting power, and performance for next generation optical interconnects based on system specifications.
  • As part of the team developing key integrated circuit components the engineer must be able to work collaboratively leading block level development.
  • Specify, architect and design low voltage and low power Mixed-Signal integrated circuits and work collaboratively with digital designers.
  • Plan design work with constraints on performance, schedule and quality.
  • Provide guidance to junior designers and layout engineers.
  • Guidance to develop test plans for post-silicon characterization.
  • Document all design work with review materials and detailed design descriptions.

The ideal candidate should exhibit excellent oral and written communication skills.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

The ideal candidate should have a minimum of BA degree in Electrical Engineering or related filed and 10+ years of experience OR MS in Electrical Engineering or related field with 8+ years of experience in high-speed serial links and deep knowledge of analog CMOS/BiCMOS designs in deep sub-micron process technologies.

The experience mentioned above must include:

  • Hands-on circuit design experience of SerDes blocks like Equalizers, PLL, Phase-Interpolators, CDR, etc. for 28Gbps+ data rates.

$177,200.00-$250,160.00

Salary range dependent on a number of factors including location and experience.
