Job Description

The Senior Analyst, Live Service is responsible for pre and post trade operational support, which is a high-risk and market-impacting role. Responsibilities include resolving service issues, undertaking market recovery actions, supporting market activities, identifying and minimizing risks, managing reference data, reviewing regulatory updates, and collaborating with teams to deliver robust services. The role requires working in shifts and on weekends and bank holidays. Additionally, the role involves assisting in resolving technical issues, investigating process failures, and participating in process improvement projects. The candidate will also be expected to train junior staff members.

Role Profile
The Senior Analyst, Live Service is responsible for pre and post trade operational support. The role reports into the Turquoise, Manager. This is a high risk, market impacting front line role which in integral to the day to day running of the Turquoise markets. It can involve stock suspensions, trading cycle interventions, order deletes, market monitoring, reference data updates, calendar maintenance and regulatory transparency updates. As Senior Analyst you will be expected to be the senior subject matter expert on any given shift, train more junior members of staff and provide expertise for successful project implementation and incident management.

Team Description
The team is responsible for real time, first line operational support and middle office functions for the Turquoise venue. Live Service works closely with a number of internal and external stakeholders including Sales teams, product development, technical teams, exchange and clearing members and LCH.Clearnet LTD. The team actively supports business and product driven initiatives by managing and delivering a portfolio of projects.

Department Description
DSM Operations covers Market Operations Services and Client Technology Services. The Market Operations Services team provides the centralised function for the maintenance of key trading services’ and reference data databases spanning the LSE and Turquoise venues (both part of the London Stock Exchange Group). The department acts as a first point of contact for customers – both issuers and member firms requiring immediate or planned actions, assessing suitability for admission of issuers and impacts of corporate actions on reference data. It co-ordinates the production and dissemination of communications to customers and key organisations including EUI, CCPs, UKLA and FTSE. The area manages close, operational relationships internally and externally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing and facilitating the resolution of live service and post trade service issues for the Turquoise equity market

  • Undertaking Market Recovery action for the Turquoise markets, including alternative site recovery, late market and manual market start ups, the halting and resumption of trading schedules and instruments and partition recovery

  • Responsible for real time support of market activities across Turquoise Equities Markets

  • Identify and minimize risks of pre and post trade operations, reviewing risk indicators and tracking actions to remediate control gaps

  • Manage and maintain real time static and dynamic instrument and reference data

  • Review for corporate actions daily using Bloomberg and primary Exchange sources and update instruments as an when needed. 

  • Review Daily and Annual regulatory transparency updates so that they can be changed on the trading and reference data systems

  • Review the primary exchange tick sizes on a daily basis to keep in line with them 

  • Be proactive on investigating any regulatory updates sent by ESMA and the FCA and raise with the compliance teams

  • Responsible for managing and maintaining over 70 fields of reference data per instrument.

  • Update the yearly Holiday calendar for all the European Markets and the US Markets

  • Manage the Double Volume cap updates on a monthly Basis (changing in October 2025)

  • Work with the regulatory reporting team to send out the correct data to regulators and answer any reference data questions (MAS report (Monetary Authority of Singapore) and ESMA and FCA RTS23 reports

  • Act as first line operational support for clients for any and all queries/issue/disputes

  • Collaborate effectively across products, teams and business areas to deliver robust and effective services and development

  • Desk coverage is from 6.30am to 6.00pm (UK Time) covered by two separate shifts (early and late)

  • Some weekend and bank holiday coverage required

  • Partner with Project Managers, IT and Sales/Trading on systems enhancements and development

  • Assist with the resolution of exceptional technical & production issues/incidents.

  • Investigate process failures and implement corrective actions.

  • Participation in internal projects focused on process improvement and/or Industry/Regulatory change.

  • Identify process improvement opportunities

  • Train other members of staff and act as a role model

Candidate Profile / Key Skills

  • Minimum experience of 4 years

  • Accuracy, attention to detail and the ability to work to deadlines whilst under pressure

  • Worked in professional and client-focused environments where detailed processes must be followed

  • Must be a confident team player with good interpersonal skills and a ‘can do’ attitude

  • Recent experience in a similar technical customer service role supporting financial clients with proven customer service skills

  • Additional Technical skills with the ability to learn quickly would be an advantage in the following areas - FIX Protocol knowledge, SQL, Networking, Wireshark, SFTP, Electronic Trading systems and Market Data familiarity, ITSM Tools, Excel
