Job Description

Senior Android Developer needed for a global banking enterprise. You will collaborate with a distributed team across multiple locations (Zurich, Wroclaw, Doha, Singapore) to design and build next-generation mobile banking applications. Responsibilities include designing features, guiding other engineers, collaborating with cross-location pods, working with external APIs, implementing new technologies, participating in code reviews, and partnering with UX designers and backend teams. The role demands a high degree of creativity, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage complex challenges within a fast-paced agile environment. Continuous testing and adherence to good software practices are crucial.

Must have:

7+ years native Android (Java/Kotlin) development
MVVM, Coroutines, Flows knowledge
Git, TDD, CI/CD experience
Android design principles expertise
Secure, robust, scalable app design
Strong communication & teamwork skills

Good to have:

Banking domain experience

You'll be working with a team of talented engineers in Zurich, Wroclaw, Doha, Singapore and other locations to design and build the next generation of mobile applications. Our client is a banking domain-based global enterprise, that plans and leads IT projects in an agile working model, with a mindset around time-boxed delivery of solutions, empowerment of interdisciplinary teams, and close collaboration throughout the whole software development process. This is the location for co-located software development, which spans across multiple areas of the bank focusing on faster time to market and agile methodology, but always with a client-centric delivery approach.

Responsibilities

We're looking for someone who possesses a passion for pushing mobile technology to:

Design features and participate in the deliveries of the Mobile Banking app

Guide other engineers and share standards and best practices with them

Collaborate with cross-location pod's to ship new features

Work with external data sources and / or APIs

Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency

Provide tech solutions and ensuring adherence to good software practices by participating in code reviews

Partner with UX designers, architects, back-end development teams and QA to deliver a high quality product

Create, manage and automate continuous testing of the features you delivered

Be part of a strong technical engineering team (onsite) and contribute to the success of Mobile Excellence in the project

Skills

Must have

a graduate degree in IT Software Engineering

fundamental experience in designing secure, robust and scalable applications

7+ years of native Android (Java/Kotlin) development experience

familiar with design principles

experience in MVVM

knowledge of Coroutines, Flows etc

knowledge of Version Control System (Git)

understanding of Google's Android design principles and interface guidelines

experience in test driven development, continuous Integration and Deployment

a strong software engineer with high dedication app development

showing a high degree of creativity by designing user-friendly applications

a good team player

a strong written and verbal communicator, comfortable interacting with colleagues in English (C1/C2 level)

analytical skilled person who manages to cope with complex challenges in software engineering

a positive attitude and a great interest in shaping the future of technology in banking
