The Role: Senior Anti-Piracy Analyst
The new digital world has been a boon to business and to bad guys who “take what they can and give nothing back”. As an Intelligence Analyst in Irdeto’s Cyber Services Team, you will be part of a globally distributed team that is in a mission to fight Intellectual Property, Trademark abuse and Cybercrime. You will also be responsible for ensuring all the hard work IP owners worldwide are protected and not hijacked by pirates.
In this role you will be joining our Video Entertainment team. Conditional access remains key to what we do; from managing new technology implementations, combating online piracy, and offering anti-cheat methods for gaming to supporting customers' demand for high-quality multi-screen experiences Irdeto deliver to a global customer base.
Your mission at Irdeto:
- In this role, you will be responsible for the forensic analysis of illicit streaming services, conditional access piracy and report the results of your investigation to various customers. This requires a solid understanding of network protocols and forensic principles of evidence collection, especially since your reports can be used as evidence in a court case.
- On a day-to-day basis, you will analyze the network captures you made of an illicit streaming service, identify the c&c server, and streaming servers, and use open source intelligence (OSINT) to try to uncover the illicit streaming operation.
- Find a way to secure the evidence needed, If the network traffic is encrypted or the app/device is protected against reversing attempts.
- In addition to the analysis of pirate operations, providing anti-piracy countermeasures and incident response to customers will be part of your daily work.
- Research into the latest security threats and keeping our customers informed about this will be part of the role. Explain your findings in a clear way to technical experts and management.
- Write meaningful reports detailing threats found against the customer and any actions Irdeto has performed to mitigate them as per agreed upon with the customer.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a cybersecurity role such as a consultant or experience as an IT administrator, network engineer, or developer with an affinity for cybersecurity.
- Experience in an anti-piracy role in the media industry, understanding of media protection including Conditional Access and DRM.
- You have performed many anti-piracy investigations related to both CA and streaming piracy.
- Good understanding of the TCP/IP stack and network analysis. Wireshark holds no secrets for you.
- Experience with digital forensics and evidence collection.
- Basic knowledge of OSINT (specifically tools to support the process).
- Pragmatic in both your work and in your solutions for our customers.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication and attention to detail. Your reports can be used in court.
