The Senior Applied Scientist will be part of the Azure GenAI team in Cairo, working on state-of-the-art large language models (LLMs). Responsibilities include developing and experimenting with LLMs, focusing on areas like alignment, synthetic data generation, and fine-tuning. The role involves designing methods, tools, and infrastructure to advance synthetic data generation and utilization. Strong collaboration skills are essential, as is staying current with the latest advancements in the field. The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of software development and machine learning expertise, with a proven track record in generative AI and LLMs.

- 3+ years experience in generative AI and LLMs
- Proficiency in Python and PyTorch

Join the Azure GenAI team, the innovators behind the Phi3/Phi3.5 models and Azure OpenAI models. We are expanding our presence in Cairo and are at the forefront of developing cutting-edge models. We are seeking Applied Scientists with a strong blend of software development skills, building, and experimentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering.
- Master’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years of experience in generative AI and large language models (LLM).
- Proficiency in Python and hands-on experience with frameworks such as PyTorch.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in developing machine learning models at scale with product driven mindset.
- A PhD in AI, Computer Science, or related technical fields.
- Major contributor to impactful open-source projects
Responsibilities
