As a Senior Business Analyst, you will be responsible for overseeing daily financial payout processes, managing incidents, and escalating issues with partner banks in the APAC region. You will provide feedback to the Amsterdam team for process optimization, act as a strategic partner for stakeholders, mitigate risks, and promote innovation and integrity in financial operations. The role requires strong problem-solving skills, the ability to work independently, and excellent communication skills. You will also be involved in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of customer payouts while focusing on customer-centric growth and automation for critical payout services. The role requires you to manage daily financial processes, focusing on customer-centric growth and automation, handle operational issues efficiently, and maintain a high-level strategic view.

We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst to join our Merchant Finance & Treasury team. This role is based in Singapore and will be the first team member in the APAC region, working closely with our centralized team in Amsterdam. This opportunity contributes to the global expansion of the Merchant Finance & Treasury team in order to ensure we meet client-, regulatory- and business needs effectively across the globe.

The Merchant Finance and Treasury team is dedicated to ensuring our customers are paid correctly, on time, and in the right currency. As we expand globally we are committed to operational excellence, innovation, and integrity. 

The expansion into the region is driven by multiple factors: an evolving merchant base, client expectations (i.e. payout reliability and speed), and the heavy complexity of the region (number of countries, regulations, etc). 

The challenge in this role lies in managing daily financial processes from a new timezone, focusing on customer-centric growth and automation for Adyen’s critical payout services. The ideal candidate will independently seek scalable processes and optimizations, handle operational issues efficiently, by maintaining a high-level strategic view while being detail-oriented when necessary.

What you’ll do:

  • Monitoring: Oversee the daily financial payout processes to ensure accuracy, timeliness, customer centricity in APAC region
  • Incident Management: Handle any issues related to payouts promptly and effectively, ensuring minimal disruption to our services.
  • Partner Bank escalation: Handle operational challenges with Partner banks (e.g. sanctions challenges, missing reports) and provide feedback to the Partnerships person in Amsterdam regarding the challenges, to ensure there is appropriate escalation.
  • Feedback Loop: Provide valuable insights and feedback to the Amsterdam team to help scale, optimize and automate financial processes.
  • Strategic Partner: Act as a strategic sparring partner for commercial and regulatory stakeholders on merchant finance and treasury topics, focusing on the APAC region.
  • Risk Mitigation: Identify and mitigate risks associated with APAC payouts to ensure operational excellence and regional compliance requirements 
  • Innovation and Integrity: Promote innovation and uphold the highest standards of integrity in all financial operations in the region.

Who you are:

  • Proven experience within finance, finance support and/or treasury functions.
  • Strong understanding of Adyen’s accounting and technical systems in relation to our payout processes
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a global team.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with financial systems and automation tools is a plus.
  • Strategic thinker with a focus on operational excellence and customer-centricity.
  • Self starter and autonomous.
