The Senior Commercial Analyst at SEGA Europe will manage, interpret, and analyze commercial data to drive revenue and profit across first-party platforms. The ideal candidate possesses 5+ years of experience in a commercial or business analytics role, proficiency in data analytics tools (SQL, Power BI, Tableau, etc.), advanced Excel skills, strong commercial acumen, a passion for video games, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The role involves supporting the execution of annual sales goals, enhancing financial performance, and delivering actionable insights through clear reports.
Must have:

Role: Senior Commercial Analyst
Company: SEGA Europe Ltd
Location: SEGA HQ Brentford, Hybrid working (3-days per week in-office)

Job Summary:
As a Senior Commercial Analyst within the Digital Sales Team, you will manage, interpret, and analyse commercial data to drive revenue and profit across first-party platforms. You will maintain live performance tracking documents and provide ad-hoc analysis and forecasting to support both Digital and Physical Sales Teams in addressing SEGA’s commercial needs. 
This role is ideal for an experienced analyst with strong commercial acumen and a keen interest in market trends within the video games and entertainment sector. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive digital sales performance: Support the Digital Sales team in executing annual sales goals by leveraging data analytics to enhance financial performance, with a strong emphasis on profitability.
  • Performance tracking & reporting: Maintain live tracking documents to enable ongoing commercial performance monitoring, ensuring data accuracy and accessibility.  
  • Data analysis & insights: Analyse European, North American, and global data to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges, delivering insights through clear and actionable reports.
  • Strategic stakeholder support: Provide ad-hoc analysis and forecasting to address commercial needs across the Digital and Physical Sales teams, considering market trends and competitive positioning.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with Business Planning, customer strategy and other analytical teams within SEGA to share resources, improve reporting processes, and identify gaps in existing toolsets.
  • External partner engagement: Build and maintain strong business relationships with key external partners, including first-party platform holders and physical distribution partners, to deliver on accurate and timely commercial reporting and alignment.
  • Database & automation management: Contribute to the management, automation, and optimization of internal databases, insight dashboards, and reporting tools to streamline analytics processes.

Knowledge, Skill and Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience working with large datasets in a commercial or business analytics role.
  • Proficiency in data analytics tools, including SQL for querying large databases and at least one specialist platform (Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, etc.).
  • Advanced Excel skills (PivotTables, complex formulas, VBA a plus).
  • Strong commercial acumen with a deep understanding of sales analytics, revenue drivers, and forecasting methodologies.
  • Industry knowledge: Passion for video games and entertainment, ideally with experience in digital distribution and/or Games-as-a-Service (GaaS) models.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for senior stakeholders.
  • Experience in working with international teams, including navigating different time zones and cultural perspectives.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Comfortable working independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with automation and data visualization to improve reporting efficiency and insight delivery.
