We are seeking an inquisitive and experienced Data Analyst to join our Product Management team on The Sims FreePlay. Reporting to the Director of Product, you will work with peers and stakeholders to understand player engagement, session behaviors, game usage and spending habits, and to identify product growth opportunities. You will use your skills to provide data-driven solutions to complex problems, translate qualitative/quantitative data into insights, and create recommendations to steer the product development and live operational roadmaps.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver timely and high quality insights into player behavior in order to guide product priorities and decisions.
- Design, implement, and report on A/B tests to enhance user experience, using statistical methods to draw meaningful conclusions.
- Perform advanced statistical analyses to identify trends and patterns, offering actionable insights.
- Develop reliable dashboards and self-serve tools to communicate findings and performance metrics, encouraging data-driven decision-making.
- Data engineering: build and maintain performant data pipelines; ensure data quality and governance. Optimize table performance to improve time to insights and reduce cost.
- Communicate results and findings throughout the organization, ensuring all levels of leadership are informed.
- Partner with data engineering to ensure data pipelines stay performant.
- Thoroughly understand business priorities and maintain deep familiarity with the game by continuously playing and understanding its systems and players
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Data Science, Analytics, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in an analytics role performing quantitative analysis with big data to help guide decisions.
- Experience in SQL and ability to extract data from large data sources with differing structures.
- Hands-on experience in data mining, machine learning, or statistical modeling
- Hands-on experience with basic data engineering, including ETL scripting and setup, efficient table design, and data pipeline maintenance.
- Experience with R and or Python
- Analyzing A/B Tests and determining statistical significance in A/B testing.
- Experience with data visualization software (e.g. Tableau, PowerBI, Looker).
- Experience influencing and presenting to people at different levels of business and technical expertise, including the ability to simplify complex technical concepts.
- Passion for mobile gaming and The Sims is a plus.
