Job Description

SGS is seeking a Senior Data Architect to drive global data initiatives through innovative technologies. The role involves defining and implementing data architecture principles, governance, and frameworks for scalable data solutions. Responsibilities include designing end-to-end data architectures for real-time and batch processing, enabling data ingestion, preparation, modeling, and serving. Collaboration with global teams to promote adoption across the organization is key. The role requires staying updated with the latest data trends and technologies.
Must have:
  • 6+ years of experience in cloud and hybrid data solutions, with a focus on Azure.
  • Proven track record in designing, building, and delivering data solutions.
  • Extensive experience in data modeling, particularly dimensional modeling.
  • Deep knowledge of Azure data services (Data Factory, Synapse, Azure SQL, Power BI, Event Hub, Databricks, Snowflake).
  • Proficiency in SQL, C#, and Python.
  • Experience with CI/CD using Azure DevOps, GitHub, Visual Studio.
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills.
  • Exceptional communication and technical documentation skills.
Good to have:
  • Master's or PhD degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Willingness to travel for project-related requirements.

Join SGS and play a pivotal role in shaping our digital transformation by utilizing innovative technologies to drive our global data initiatives. As a Senior Data Architect, you’ll be responsible for defining and implementing data architecture principles, governance, and frameworks to ensure scalable and effective data solutions. You will design end-to-end data architectures for real-time and batch processing, enabling data ingestion, preparation, modeling, and serving to meet business needs. You’ll collaborate with global teams to promote adoption across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Architecture & Governance: Define and implement data architecture principles, governance standards, and best practices across the organization.
  • Solution Design: Lead data projects by designing and implementing robust data solutions tailored to business requirements.
  • Enterprise Data Models: Develop and maintain enterprise data models, ensuring consistency and alignment with SGS's goals and objectives.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Global Delivery and Regional teams to ensure the use of SGS standard architectures and frameworks.
  • Cloud & Technology Partnerships: Act as the main point of contact with cloud providers and internal teams, ensuring seamless integration of cloud services.
  • Proof of Concepts: Drive innovation by developing proof of concepts to test and validate emerging technologies.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay up to date with the latest data trends and technologies by attending industry events, taking training courses, and engaging with relevant communities.

Qualifications

  • Education: A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with a Master’s or PhD preferred.
  • Experience: 6+ years of experience delivering cloud and hybrid data solutions (on-premises and cloud), with a strong focus on Azure. Proven track record in designing, building, and delivering data solutions and architectures.
  • Data Modeling Expertise: Extensive experience in data modeling, particularly dimensional modeling.
  • Azure Services: Deep knowledge of Azure data services, such as Data Factory, Synapse, Azure SQL Database, Power BI, Event Hub, Databricks, Snowflake, and similar tools.
  • Programming Skills: Proficiency in SQL, C#, and Python for data-related tasks.
  • CI/CD & DevOps: Experience with CI/CD practices using Azure DevOps, GitHub, and Visual Studio.
  • Leadership & Collaboration: Strong leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Communication & Documentation: Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences. Strong technical documentation skills.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to travel for project-related requirements
