- you modernize our data platform—shaping architecture, challenging the status quo, and balancing innovation with efficiency
- you build and run scalable, high-performance data pipelines for both batch and streaming applications
- you model and optimize terabyte-size datasets to drive insights and enable ML/AI applications
- you mentor junior teammates and foster a culture of technical excellence and collaboration
- you champion best practices in engineering, testing, privacy, and governance
What you'll need:
- you possess deep experience with distributed systems, particularly Apache Spark in production settings
- you write clean code in Python, Scala, or Java, and follow solid engineering principles
- you embrace CI/CD and DevOps workflows for fast, reliable data engineering
- you think analytically and care deeply about data lifecycle and quality assurance
- you understand ML fundamentals and work effectively with data scientists
- you’ve architected and evolved modern data platforms.
- you know your way around platforms like Palantir Foundry, Databricks, Snowflake, or Microsoft Fabric.
- you lead initiatives across teams (without needing formal authority)
What we offer:
- your personal growth is important to us: we offer trainings and learning lunches, tech conferences, a budget for workshops and much more to expand your knowledge and your skills
- flexible working hours support a healthy work-life balance
- our free food offer: in addition to a breakfast snack, we also offer a free lunch in our canteens
- 30 days vacation plus 10 days working from abroad
- free choice of top-notch office equipment (also for your remote work space and private usage), up-to-date hardware, software and modern office spaces that provide you with maximum flexibility
- collaboration thrives on direct exchange - we rely on 80% office presence and 20% mobile working
- from now a permanent full- or part-time position in a modern office in the heart of the city: http://www.axelspringer-neubau.de/
