Rebellion seeks a Senior DevOps Engineer to design, maintain, and optimize cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure), implement automation frameworks, establish CI/CD pipelines, and ensure performance and security. Responsibilities include managing cloud infrastructure in a liveOps environment, implementing cloud architecture, deploying cybersecurity measures, incident management, and collaborating with code/build teams. This role requires strong experience with Infrastructure as Code, containerization, CI/CD systems, version control, and monitoring technologies. The position offers flexibility (hybrid options) and is based in Oxford, Warwick, or Runcorn.
Must have:
  • Senior-level DevOps experience
  • AWS/Azure Infrastructure as Code
  • Containerization expertise (ECS, Docker, Kubernetes)
  • CI/CD (Jenkins, GitLabCI, CircleCI)
  • Version control (Perforce, Git)
  • Logging, monitoring, incident response

For 30 years we’ve been independently developing and publishing incredible video games at our multiple studios founded by Jason & Chris Kingsley, but Rebellion is more than just games. We have our own film studio, we create board games, publish books, and through 2000AD, publish comics and graphic novels such as the amazing Judge Dredd.

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior DevOps Engineer to join our code department to become the DevOps specialist within a small team!

As the Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be solely responsible for designing and maintaining the infrastructure, implementing automation frameworks, establishing robust CI/CD pipelines, and optimizing performance and security measures. Your expertise will be crucial in driving our game development workflows, ensuring reliability, scalability, and efficiency. You will be the sole DevOps engineer in a small team so this is a good opportunity to take ownership of this function and grow your expertise!

This exciting opportunity can be based out of any of our studios in Oxford, Warwick, or Runcorn, offering flexibility, collaboration, and the chance to work with a world-class team! Key Outcomes:

  • Maintaining the highest SLA uptimes.
  • Consolidation, improvement and expansion of our cloud infrastructure offering.
  • Increased visibility of cloud estate and health metrics.
  • Greater control and management of infrastructure for production.

Responsibilities:

  • Effectively deploy, manage and monitor Cloud infrastructure in a LiveOps environment.
  • Scoping, design and implementation of cloud architecture.
  • Implement, maintain and consolidate cloud testing and automation tools.
  • Identifying and deploying cybersecurity measures.
  • Incident management and root cause analysis.
  • Working with our code and build teams to ensure a streamlined workflow.

Requirements

  • Prior experience working in DevOps at a Senior level.
  • Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code technologies (AWS/Azure).
  • Strong experience with containerising applications and maintaining containerised infrastructure (ECS, Docker Swarm, Kubernetes etc).
  • Familiarity with CI / CD systems like Jenkins, GitLabCI, CircleCI etc.
  • Experienced with version control systems like Perforce and git.
  • A knowledge of creating and maintaining logging, monitoring and incident response technologies.
  • Experience with Pulumi and Microsoft PlayFab is desirable.
