Job Description

Senior DevOps Engineer needed for a 10+ year-old company developing trading software for a top-tier hedge fund. Responsibilities include building and supporting automation tools, troubleshooting outages, standardizing workflows across QA, UAT, and PROD environments, and collaborating with traders, developers, and QA. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Python automation (Jenkins), Unix shell scripting, AWS cloud technologies, Kubernetes, and a strong aptitude for process improvement. Experience with trading applications is a plus.

Must have:

3-5 years Python automation (Jenkins)
5+ years Unix shell scripting
2+ years SRE/DevOps experience
AWS & Kubernetes experience
Process re-engineering & automation
Good communication skills

Good to have:

AWS (EC2, Lambda, RDS, SageMaker)
Jenkins pipelines (Groovy)
Docker, Ansible
CI/CD pipeline setup
Trading app & financial instrument experience

Project description

We've been developing trading software for our partner - a top-tier hedge fund - for over 10 years.
One of the teams develops deployment pipelines. With evolving tech stack we are looking for a new DevOps engineer join it.
You will work with traders and portfolio managers, developers, QA engineers, and other fellow DevOps.

Responsibilities

Build automation tools and support them

Troubleshoot inquiries and outages

should be able to work under pressure.

Standardize workflows and keep QA, UAT, and PROD in sync.

Skills

Must have

3-5 years of python development in automation using Jenkins

5+ years of Unix shell scripting experience

2+ years of experience as an SRE/DevOps engineer responsible for deployment and maintenance of production systems

Experience with Cloud technologies (AWS) and Kubernetes

An appetite for process re-engineering and automation

Good communication skills

Nice to have

AWS specific experience in EC2, Lambda, RDS and SageMaker

Building pipelines in Jenkins using Groovy

Docker Containers, Ansible

Experience with systems and IT support on setting up CI/CD pipelines

Experience with trading applications, financial instruments, trade lifecycle
