The Availability Cloud at Salesforce is accountable for ensuring all products deliver mission critical availability so that our customers can exceed the expectations of their customers. You are a full stack software engineering leader that has had a career designing and delivering mission critical data insights. You iterate quickly, learn and iterate again. You consistently break through obstacles, work horizontally and turn “hard, complex” problems into bite-sized, easily tractable solutions. You are a product leader, defining the technical strategy, digging into the math behind a dashboard because the data matters. Communication is a strength, both written and live. Your executive presence is comfortable and articulate because you regularly work with these customers. You roll up your sleeves, comfortably code, build dashboards and debug analysis regularly. You are a fantastic leader who develops their team to do great things and you inspire those around you.
Responsibilities
Define and drive the vision, strategy and roadmap for availability data and analytics to accelerate Salesforce’s mission to deliver customer availability.
Manage the design and delivery of real time business critical analytics, dashboards, reporting and data visualizations that directly power availability decisions across all of Salesforce
Work across a large number of customers to drive the design, build and maintenance of new data models and data pipelines in production.
Build a high-quality data engineering team and design the team to scale.
Build cross-functional relationships with AI/ML Engineers, Product Managers, Incident Response, SRE, CCE and Cloud Leaders at Salesforce to understand data needs and deliver on those needs
Define and execute the AI/ML strategy to enable more effective delivery of operations at scale. Build the team from the ground up.
Define the processes needed to achieve operational excellence in all areas, including project management and system reliability.
Define and manage SLA’s for all data sets and processes running in production.
Contribute to improving data engineering competency across Salesforce
Minimum Qualifications:
12+ years of software development
7+ years of data engineering and analytics experience across at least 2 different companies
Deep understanding of service reliability, product availability and observability standards, KPIs and standard metrics
Experience building highly effective software engineering teams from the ground up
Communication and leadership experience, with experience initiating and driving projects tied to business outcomes
Experience with data driven performance and reliability improvement across platform and/or products, data foundation for consumer experience in Products, advance machine learning problems and data/analytics
Project management experience.
Data architecture and modeling experience.
Experience in SQL or similar languages.
Development experience in at least one object-oriented language (Python, Java, etc.).
BA/BS in Computer Science, Math, Physics, or other technical fields.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Tableau and Grafana
