Summary

M2 Animation seeks a Senior Editor in Bangkok, Thailand. This full-time position requires a commanding grasp of artistic fundamentals, technical proficiency in industry software, and a commitment to on-time delivery. Responsibilities include creative execution, technical quality control, collaboration with team members, and clear communication. The Senior Editor will mentor junior team members, ensure adherence to project pipelines, and proactively address potential issues to maintain project timelines. Strong communication skills and active participation in team meetings are crucial. Salary and benefits will be negotiated individually.

1. Creative: Senior Artists have a commanding grasp of, and ability to execute on the artistic fundamentals of (discipline). They help set benchmarks through example, and assist their teams in a mentoring capacity.
  • Have a strong understanding of and keen eye for the artistic fundamentals of (discipline)
  • Deliver high quality work with minimal direction from Team Lead and Supervisor
  • Able to quickly adapt to various artistic styles
  • Be aware of how each task fits into the broader project
  • Be intimately familiar with the artistic style, and do’s and don’ts of the project
  • Be proactive in helping guide and mentor teammates
  • Create and / or collect appropriate references for each new task, and assist less experienced members of the team in the same
  • Reliably understand and apply feedback from Team Leads & Supervisors
  • Be cognizant of, and endeavor to avoid repeat feedback
  • Apply what has been learned from each task to the next in an effort to hone their artistic abilities
2. Technical: Senior Artists possess a strong understanding of the technical requirements of   their work, and ensure they are met
  • Take ownership in ensuring proper QC is applied to all tasks
  • Have a firm understanding of the project’s pipeline
  • Ensure proper naming conventions are adhered to
  • Be fluent in the use of software / tools / hardware used on the project, and commonly used throughout the studio
3. On Time Delivery: Senior  Artists ensure their work is completed within the allotted schedule at or above the required level of artistic quality
  • Be cognitive of quotas / deadlines to ensure review points are properly prioritized
  • Ensure work is reviewed by Team Leads and Supervisors in a timely manner
  • Submit work for Supervisor review by one half hour prior to scheduled Supervisor review time
  • Ensure that all notes are properly addressed before submitting work for review
  • Identify and flag issues that may interfere with on time deliveries, and offer solutions
  • Take on additional work as needed to alleviate less experienced team members
4. Collaboration: Intermediate  Artists actively engage with their Teammates, Leads, and Sups to ensure the overall production runs smoothly
  • Be aware of how each task affects the work of direct teammates, as well as reporting managers and teams throughout the pipeline
  • Be present during standard studio operating hours, and avoid uninformed leaves other than emergency situations
  • Be aware of calendars and attend scheduled trainings / meetings / events in a timely manner
5. Communication: Strong communication is a crucial part of Senior Artists delivering work that flows and is consistent with the rest of their project
  • Be a positive example for the team in proactive participation in team meetings and activities
  • Ask questions and suggest ideas at the beginning of a new task with the goal of gaining absolute clarity 
  • Attend and actively participate in dailies, weeklies, team or leadership meetings, and handout sessions
  • Actively seek assistance as needed to avoid extended delays
