Job Summary
Job Description
The Senior Engineer will join the Engineering Operations team to support Engineering applications. Initially, the focus will be on learning and supporting a Java-based application. Subsequently, the engineer will support and enhance this application, as well as others such as Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket. Responsibilities include learning and supporting internal applications in Java and Python, collaborating with the team to support third-party applications, assisting in infrastructure development and maintenance, and performing infrastructure design reviews. The position requires strong Java and database skills, along with some customer support experience.
Must have:
- 3-5 years of Java development and debugging
- 2-3 years of PostgreSQL database administration
- Knowledge of client-server applications and security (HTTPS, TLS 1.3)
Good to have:
- Python development experience
- Linux use and preferably administration experience
- Bash scripting
- Application support experience

You will join the Engineering Operations team as a senior engineer, supporting Engineering applications. Initial focus will be learning to support a Java-based application. Once that knowledge transfer is complete, you will support and enhance that application and others like Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket.
- Learn and support internal applications in Java and Python
- Collaborate with team to support 3rd-party applications
- Assist in infrastructure development and maintenance
- Perform infrastructure design reviews
The position requires strong Java and database skills, along with some experience with customer support.
This position will train in alignment with the Western time zone for the first 2-3 months. After this, the position will revert to regular hours.
Must have:
- 3-5 years Java development and debugging

Strongly desired:
- Python development experience
- Linux use and preferably administration experience
- Bash scripting
- Application support experience
Nice to have:
- 3rd-party tools support experience, especially Atlassian tools (Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence)
Soft skills:
- Verbal and written communication skills in English
- Customer support experience
- Team player who works well in collaborative situations
