NTD's Software Development Support Group (SDSG) supports Nintendo licensees in development of software on Nintendo hardware platforms. Members of the group are experts in Nintendo hardware and software development tools, providing frontline support to developers around the world. SDSG members work with AAA development teams to help solve some of their hardest problems, while also educating new developers on the basics of Nintendo development.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Provide clear and helpful answers to developer inquiries via forums and email
Solve technical problems and suggest viable workarounds
Write sample code to illustrate how to use complex low-level APIs
Learn and become a master of Nintendo’s platform SDK and tools
Experiment with internal game submission tools/workflows and identify issues
Help analyze and optimize game performance
Effectively triage and communicate problems to the SDK team and drive solutions
Write concise test code that reproduces reported issues
Prepare and deliver educational multimedia content
Design and write software tools to help the team manage tasks more efficiently
Identifies and resolves dependencies impacting the team
Analyzes existing processes and technologies and makes recommendations for improvement
Collaborates with peer groups and other teams across Nintendo
Provides coaching and mentorship and acts as a resource to other engineers
Participates as a key contributor to the hiring process
Up to 10% travel; domestic and international
SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS:
5+ years of recent experience developing game software on Nintendo platforms
Strong grasp of data structure and algorithms, multithreaded programming, and OS fundamentals
Fluency with C, C++
[OPT] Fluency with C#
[OPT] Fluency with ARM assembly
Experience or expertise in one of the following areas:
Using graphics API such as OpenGL, Vulkan or DirectX
Front-end and/or back-end multiplayer services
Low-level optimization and game engine systems
Practices a problem-solving mindset and approach
Has excellent written and verbal communication skills
Motivated to learn game development tools and frameworks
BS or MS in engineering or equivalent
[OPT] Fluency in Japanese (JLPT Level 2 or higher)
Valid passport may be required
This position is onsite in Redmond, WA, and not open to remote status at this time.
This position includes a base salary range of $142,133 - $213,199 annually, potential for a semi-annual discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off.
